Recently some one bought a copy of Sororicide - The entity which is one of the few old-school death metal releases from Iceland. I do believe it was the vinyl, and not the cd, but either way it ended up going for 500.000 ISK wich is about 3800$(a bit more) making it the most amount of money ever paid for an icelandic album.

I just think it's pretty cool that the "most expensive/valuable" icelandic album happens to be a death metal release.

btw I happen to own a copy of the vinyl myself in mint condition, aaaannd it's signed by all members of the band. Anyone wanna make me rich?

no doubt the guy was an utter tool, but this is no bullshit. This story was even all over the newspapers here in Iceland yesterday haha.

But like I said, I just think it's cool that a death metal album is the record holder here in iceland :emot-yum:

Pretty much, yeah. We just need more people to buy the album at this inflated price and we'll be out of the recession in no time.

I just paid around $59 U.S (postage inc.) for this the other day haha, most i've EVER paid for a cd...but I really wanted it, and they ain't ever repressing it cos of the "re-release" i'd say:

the only Covenant that i enjoy. It does have a beautiful mellow dark atmosphere that sounds rather genuine compared to the more commercial sympho bands.

Yeah it's still really bad, and it is getting worse. But the thing about our recession is that it mostly looks bad on paper, and stuff is getting more expensive. You don't see it hit people as hard as in several places, especially the U.S. Since we are a nation of few, damage control is pretty extensive, and most people actually have it pretty good(except their loans and debts have skyrocketed). Whereas other places thousands of people are losing their jobs and homes.

At Sako: Sell that bitch. I would. No album is worth having when you could make almost 4000 dollars selling it!

Some people on the board were talking about actually putting it back in print.

Haha, lucky you!
I'm just glad to get it
I've bidded on 3-4 different copies of this of recent weeks, and they all went for a similar amount.

I dunno what the hell's going on haha, cos they did a remix/remaster/partial re-recording of it and released it in 2002 under the name The Kovenant. That was obviously inferior due to them trying to incorporate their modern shit into it, but anyway - on their website, it says in their last bulletin (Oct 2007) that they were re-releasing it in it's original form, WITH THE DEMO INCLUDED!!! And it even has it listed in their discography, but I cannot find any physical evidence of this actually being pressed or whatever.

Not the Covenant album, The Sociocide album.

As for the Covenant album, it's great. and super epic, just song after song is so unique I really wish they would have stayed in that vein. Yeah, I own the new industrial cds and they're good from time to time, but I can't put them on and listen to the whole cd like the olds ones. I even own a Nexus Polaris shirt haha.

Haha fuck
$2000 starting price? Fuck
And he's apparantly the drummer...imagine if he had one or 2 more, and he's gonna flog 'em one by one.
But yeah, it's kinda fucked imo

Funny thing is, he has NO previous Ebay history.
So, who the fuck's gonna risk bidding on this? It's possibly a scam, and if not, he's gonna struggle either way due to no rating.

He's just jumped on the "sell your Sororicide album for a bunch of money" bandwagon. Plenty of people over here are trying to make some money off this shit ever since that one douchebag bought a copy for 3800$..
