www.audionews.ru is having an open registration coming up. It's still a ways away, but everyone into recording software, plug-in's and VSTi's needs to be on this site.

Those are all programs for Mac, but their forums are filled with mostly PC applications.

MustangMan311 02-20-2008 12:39 AM

Haha, this is probably retarded, but do they have Guitar Pro 5.x for Mac?

Pwnsauce 02-20-2008 12:40 AM

Thanks I gotta check this out

F0RBIDDEN 02-20-2008 12:46 AM

Damn I'm pumped! Thanks for the info bro!

I'm gonna feel guilty about this software downloading eventually... When I realized that the Waves Mercury bundle I downloaded months ago is worth $12,500 I almost shit a brick.

modern death 02-20-2008 12:57 AM

Bookmarked.

12,500$? Wow

Pwnsauce 02-20-2008 01:02 AM

Who the fuck would pay $12,500 for software?

ChAAPY 02-20-2008 01:08 AM

I'll be there.

Audio professionals. It's pretty unethical to profit off of downloading plug-in's and software if you're selling your services to musicians.

However, I don't think there is a problem using the software for personal projects or to learn it and try it before purchasing it. As long as you don't make money using it.

ChAAPY 02-20-2008 02:10 AM

I want Waves C4 for Mac. Someone needs to crack that bitch.

http://thepiratebay.org/tor/3344711/...d.OSX.RTAS.VST[k].sit (copy and paste that whole thing)

It's in there.

Waves Mercury is $12,500 because it has like every single plugin they make, and most of them are like $800 each if you buy them separately. I might buy Waves Gold or something some day, because I only mess around with like 4 of the plugins in the Mercury bundle, but the Mercury bundle was all I could find...

ChAAPY 02-20-2008 03:22 PM

I LOVE YOU!!!

ChAAPY 02-20-2008 04:20 PM

yeah that didn't work. laaaame. hopefully this Audionews site has more reliable cracks.

Bummer, sorry man! What part of it didn't work?

ChAAPY 02-20-2008 04:58 PM

I couldn't open it after I d/l it. It was just a blank document that said, "Choose Application to open file" (was an SIT file) or something like that when I would click on it. I even uninstalled it, d/l it again and saved it in my VST folder. Still didn't work.

F0RBIDDEN 02-20-2008 05:23 PM

The SIT file is a webpage, you have to open it in your browser and download the torrent from there :P

Here's the direct torrent link...

http://torrents.thepiratebay.org/334...d.OSX.RTAS.VST[k].sit.3344711.TPB.torrent

ChAAPY 02-20-2008 05:37 PM

I know that, but I'm saying that after I have it d/l, it's still a blank document. When I double click on it, my Mac "grabs" it and nothing happens. Same thing happened when I d/l the file you just posted.

F0RBIDDEN 02-20-2008 06:13 PM

Do you have a Torrent client like uTorrent? You have to open the torrent file in a program like BitTorrent or uTorrent and then it connects to people all over the world who have the same torrent file seeding and it downloads the actual files from them...

ChAAPY 02-20-2008 06:15 PM

I used Azureus for this file. I just d/l BitTorrent right now and I'll see if it works using that. Probably won't though, haha.

F0RBIDDEN 02-20-2008 06:18 PM

Haha well in that case I guess you're fucked. Sorry bro!

ChAAPY 02-20-2008 06:20 PM

but what I noticed when I d/l Azureus was that it said it had an error d/l some read only file that mentioned plug-ins. I'm thinking that's why it didn't work but who knows. Still waiting on it to finish d/l in bittorrent though.

this is one of the reasons why I just fucking buy my software, haha. gets rid of all the bullshit that goes with illegal d/l.

ChAAPY 02-20-2008 06:21 PM

damn, still didn't work.

F0RBIDDEN 02-20-2008 06:53 PM

You should start using Reaper as your DAW, it comes with a pretty fuckin' good multiband compressor that would keep you happy while you save up for C4 ;)

Forgot you're on a Mac though... Reaper for Mac should be out soon though!

F0RBIDDEN 02-20-2008 06:56 PM

REAPER OS X latest beta...
www.reaper.fm/files/osx_early/reaper071.dmg

ChAAPY 02-20-2008 07:05 PM

but, but... I wanted to try out Andy's C4 settings, haha.

Reaper seems cool, but I just threw down $400 on Cubase 4 and I'm still learning everything about it so I don't really want to change platforms so soon if you know what I mean.

Do you use Reaper now or are you still doing all your audio stuff in Cool Edit Pro? Got any new clips besides that gay metalcore song :p

F0RBIDDEN 02-20-2008 07:36 PM

Reaper all the way for me, best fucking DAW software I've ever used. I was using Cubase SX3 before I switched over to Reaper. Reaper is faster, easier, has way better routing and has a ton of awesome features that a lot of the competition doesn't have. And it's 3mb haha... Plus it's updated like every 4 days and the creator is on the forum all the time adding features that people ask for.

I'll have some new shit up in a few weeks when I get home and start using my new Mackie Onyx 1200F, but for now here's a super rough demo of a thrash song me and my buddies sort of wrote as a joke, tracked through a Focusrite Saffire Pro and mixed in Reaper...

stabwound 02-20-2008 07:47 PM

Damn, reaper sounds awesome. I'm going to give it a shot.

I used audionews.ru, but didnt like it that much. Now I use proaudiotorrents.org and audiozonetorrents.com, and I think those sites have open signups once a month too.

that sounds really annoying actually.

the clips you posted sounded pretty good. I take it that's the VAMP your using isn't it? how many mics on the drumkit? Sounds like you mixed in the sample kick you use too.

Oink? :emot-look

I've got the waffles invite just sitting there, but their invite system sucks. It's fully random when they open invites, and I check all the time, but they're always closed... I'll invite as soon as I see them open.
