What about doing a gig at this years Sweden Rock Festival. Then you get to see Dream Theater too ;)

Kjetil N 01-28-2005 05:19 AM

Well - OK..

Currently answering interviews for Carnation and then you need some music.

Today I've listened to "Clayman" by In Flames and "If This Darkness Lingers" by Norwegian group Emerhoff and the Melancholy Babies..

Having just moved in with my girlfriend, there are lots of CDs to listen through.. nice!!

Have a good day!

At this moment, I`ve fallen right back to listen alot to the 2 first albums of dream theater. It`s been along time... And of course at least once a week for the last ten years I have been listening at the LOVE GUN album of KISS. Also bought the Bent out of shape album with Rainbow. It`s not quite Rainbow, but man what a great album!!!
Well, there you have it!

now playing...

Sigur Rós - Flugufrelsarinn

Majkel the Telepath 06-17-2005 03:48 PM

Nile - Annihilation of the Wicked
Dead Can Dance - Within the realm of a dying sun

and... Communic - Conspiracy in Mind - very good and young swedish/danish band. Their debut is very interesting with their style; mixing prog and some thrash and power elements.
Their vocalist sometimes sounds like guy in the Nevermore.

And of course I've heard some Green Carnation influences on this album. :D

And what do you think about the youngest SYL child - "Alien"?

For me is much better than "S.Y.L.". The sound is full of rage and anger but there is also a place for a very delicate ballad: "Two Weeks". It sounds similar to Pink Floyd's "Wish you were here" or "A pillow of winds".

Pilgrim 06-21-2005 01:17 PM

I have only heard Shitstorm and Love? off Alien, but thats kinda enough for me to buy it soon.
I have S.Y.L and they have definately toned down on the spacy keyboard background, making the music more harsh arrangement wise. It's not bad at all though IMO, it adds diversity to their catalogue. It could be tiresome with the keyboards omnipreseent on every album. Plus, it has a fucking gem - Bring on the Young. It's so cool with that uneasy bass line and Devin's voice with a stressed psychotic vibe, than exploding into a mindfucking shriek. So, I would give SYL a fair 8/10.

Hehe.. a controversial one here, maybe, but right now..... Gorillaz - Clint Eastwood, some kind of remix. Great song!!

Or what??

MadTinus 02-03-2006 03:57 PM

I just know one Gorillaz song (their best-known hitsingle) and that's kinda groovy! Never be ashamed of you musical taste Kjetil! ;) I own three Madonna LP's! And 4 Pet Shop Boys CD's... and.. :D

NP: AUDREY HORNE - No Hay Banda <== anyone??!

Kjetil N 02-03-2006 04:02 PM

Hahaha.. I'm not ashamed of any of my musical preferences, and Gorillaz was a really fresh breath in a normally quite not-too-fresh genre. No problems with most of Madonna's stuff, and I have been drinking with the former synth-player of Pet Shop Boys several times. He used to be the chairman of my football club in England, so they're OK too.. hehe..

MadTinus 02-03-2006 04:14 PM

Hey, that's funny! You mean Chris Lowe? He was (is?) the instrumentalist and Neil Tennant the singer.

I was into the Pet Shop Boys before I got into heavy stuff and I still like their stuff from that time, I have the "Please", "Actually", "Disco" and "Introspective" albums.

Kjetil N 02-03-2006 04:27 PM

He was a live session keyboardist (they probably had two), Scott Davidson, not really in the band, but told me some cool live stories about them, from Wembley amongst other..
