OMG this is amazing! How did you make this?

Thank you :>
It's the BBC Symphony Orchestra VST plugin by Spitfire Audio. I got it for my birthday.

Thank, man!

I'm really happy that the HORSE veteran fans like it, that means a lot! Working on another one right now. Do you guys have suggestions for songs you want me do? Can't promise anything though.

I meant to post it but kept getting sidetracked in my time off.

The Black Hole is up:

Edit: I'm not affiliated, just a big fan of their work.

As for requests? Man any song. If you eventually do the entire album, that'd be killer but if you wanted to branch out, can you imagine 'I think we are both suffering...'? Phew.

Yeah! I watched your SotC video yesterday and thought the same thing. I very fucking much love A Natural Death! Dat bass, man!! Fuck, I miss Dash...

It's so amazing!
It's so, it's so..!
It's so amazing!

But, I would have preferred if the outro was mostly piano.

As for requests...I'd love to hear an orchestral version of Rape Escape, with as much of Valentina Lisitsa's performance as possible. And I second ITWABSFTSCMC.

I took the liberty of mailing some HTB members about your work. Here's what David Isen replied:

Goddamn those translate well!

Our next tour needs to be with the LA Philharmonic

Very impressed that they figured out all the notes, I can't even remember what i did in a lot of those parts haha

Re: Octopus on Fire played by the BBC Symphony Orchestra

That's awesome. I messaged them with no reply.

I would fucking love a Horchestra the Band tour/video event a la Metallica S&M. Give circuitsoldier credit of course for inspiration or at least hire him in some capacity.

Re: Octopus on Fire played by the BBC Symphony Orchestra

Yeah, I'd love that too. I've been considering poking some orchestras.

Holy fuck! This feels like being knighted by... dare I say it - His Purple Majesty? :> Thank you.
They translate well because it's amazing music!

It sounded right at the time haha. Any hints as to what's next?

Re: Octopus on Fire played by the BBC Symphony Orchestra

Yeah, it's gonna be straight to the point brutal cut-throat mayhem. You drop it like a heavy weight... ;)

Re: Octopus on Fire played by the BBC Symphony Orchestra

Nicely done. Sadly, I missed your reply here haha. I'm so used to notifications elsewhere that I forget I need to manually check.

Amazing.

Side note. I've ways loved trying to sync up string quartet tributes of afi songs with the actual songs so of course I tried it with some if these. I do like that you don't typically stick to it 1:1 as you sort of get a feel for what the song needs, timing wise, at certain points. Kudos.

But... and I wouldn't post it without your permission, I did experiment with a raw Kingdom Hearts video (no edits) and trying to time the two A Million Exploding Suns but I did it backwards as I hard copied your version over the video and then tried adding the actual song (can only add one music track in the video editing software), forgetting I need to do some pauses and splices on your version to keep better time. But I liked how at the "Million exploding suns!" part happened to time up with something fitting lol.

Re: Octopus on Fire played by the BBC Symphony Orchestra

Ahh, man, you didn't have to go through all that trouble of syncing! Someone on the Horse reddit tried to do the same thing and fit the original recording and the cover version together and didn't have a great time so I made them a version with the original tempo track. Syncing up the tempo to the click is the first thing I do when making the covers. It's a hassle at first but pays off later.

There's no stable tempo or click to the grid in the Horse songs I did up until now, it's just pure punk tempo mayhem :)

Anyway here's the file www(dot)circuitsoldiers(dot)com(slash)music(slash)

Sorry, I'm still not allowed to post links.
It's not perfect, but way more in sync with the album recording.
Please use it in any fashion you want :*

Re: Octopus on Fire played by the BBC Symphony Orchestra

Whoa man, awesome. I didn't do any synching yet. Just the preliminary one on top of the other with the intent of flavoring yours in to make it a S&M like experience and not just two tracks on top of each other. But then I realized I used the wrong one saved to the video because I really wanted to hear it as track from the game haha.

Re: Octopus on Fire played by the BBC Symphony Orchestra

Wow... i missed a lot of replies since i posted.

Man, your work on A Million Exploding Suns is incredible.

As for requests i'd ask for a complete take on The Mechanical Hand (i know it's too much hehe), but as i commented on youtube, any time you want you could start up a patreon account and i'd be more than happy to pitch in.

Thank for the great work, you made me so happy in this weird times.

Re: Octopus on Fire played by the BBC Symphony Orchestra

Thanks, man! It really means a lot. And thanks for offering financial support, but if what I do makes people happy, that is really enough for me to keep going. I started this just for fun and it resonated more than I could ever have imagined. Plus I have so much fun making these!
Guess I'll keep working on TMH for you guys then (after finishing my current project).

Re: Octopus on Fire played by the BBC Symphony Orchestra

Hey guys, after reading the band's facebook post from last weekend, I realized that I should have asked for permission to cover their music. It was never my intention to steal something from or be rude to them, I wanted to give them something back, because I love them and I love their music. I really wanted to surprise them with my covers, but instead I should have asked for permission. I immediately wrote them and apologized but haven't heard back from them. I'm truly sorry and I've been feeling very shitty all week. I hope they will forgive me, I've only had the best intentions, but the road to hell is paved with good intentions.
