New Bass setup.

I'm not nearly as happy with the ampeg 8x10 cab these days.
Also this GK head, totally overrated. which is good because Ill be able to re-sell for a decent price.
http://www.musiciansfriend.com/ampli...bass-amplifier

I really wanna go with two seperate cabs to stack. or possibly a 2x15.
the 1x15 + 4x10 usually sounds better also.
Heads wise though, I'm looking at some older solid state Sunn heads, But i'm not ruling out the VHT either. suggestions?

i always wanted 1x15 on the bottom with a 2x12 stacked on top of it for a bass rig. perfection.

you're in a metal band, right?

my normal suggestions of huge-box monsters from the '70s probably won't do you much good. unless you can find a hiwatt or one of the boutique hiwatt clones.

i know a guy from these here parts that makes custom cabinets and cases. you could get a one cab with a 15 in the bottom and 4 10's up top. he's fairly cheap and super high quality. williscases.com

heres one of the 2x15's he built. hes got a highly reputable clientele as well.

I've got a GK 700RB that sounds great. Better than any other GKs that I've ever heard or played through. I'm trying to get the II follow-up to it though, this one is pretty beat up. You should check them out, though I don't know if you're looking for a different brand altogether this time around.

That is pretty killer man. It looks taller then the ampeg 8x10. Ill post a picture of my setup in a bit. Seeing as how i've just decided to utilize my ampeg as a dresser in my bedroom.

I play through an early 2000's Ampeg 8x10 - I've never felt underwhelmed with the sound. A friend of mine recently bought a Vader 8x10 - sounds amazing!
