Chthe’ilist – Cryptic/Occult Death Metal from Quebec (FFO Finnish OSDM)

Hey guys, here’s my new band “Chthe’ilist”. We just uploaded a track on facebook today, the rest of the demo will be uploaded on our page soon. You can listen to the track here :

I wrote and recorded everything with the exception of the drums. The music and lyrics were written during the summer of 2010/winter 2011 and the demo was recorded a year ago.

I recorded all of the vocals too but I’m far from being a competent singer. Had no choice to recorded them myself because the former singer left before the recording sessions.

Our influences are pretty damn obvious since we’re not aiming for originality ; we draw influences from the old Finnish bands like Abhorrence, Rippikoulu, Demigod, Xysma, Agonized, Adramelech, Convulse, Privilege-Evil era Amorphis, Demilich [and plenty others], to North - American death/doom bands like Timeghoul or The Chasm.

Hopefully the few of you that are into this style will enjoy this quite a bit. More infos coming soon.

Thanks! The use of eerie-souding synths is directly influenced by Rippikoulu and early Amorphis. I think they give the music a creepy, gloomy or almost "phantomatic" mood that I find well-fitting with this style. There's some synth parts present in the other songs too but sparsely.
