Flatwound strings for DM

I tried these on a whim and I was really surprised at how good they sound for fast DM riffing. They kill some of that scraping sound so I seem to get a bit more clarity. Am I crazy or has anyone else tried this?

You talking about the smooth strings? I had some smooth jazz .12's on my guitar for a little bit, felt good and got a good tone out of them playing in A.

Yeah, I think they are meant for Jazz mainly but I've had some excellent results playing DM with them.

Oh yeah, they're awesome. Can play black metal and thrash and beatdown hardcore with 'em. Very versatile strings. Also feel great on the fingers.

I like them as well. Ive been thinking of trying half rounds. Just to get some strings that are a good middle of the road sound.

Killer new strings out called Blackstorms, finally a string that's made for metal .. They have an extra hex wire wrapped in nickel plate that gives it extra bounce to the attack for ultimate speed picking ..alot of death metal and black metal guys a starting to get endorsed by them ..I think they are the future of metal strings.
