New The Senseless album announced.

Copied from myspace bulletin.

Nothing like talking about this stuff in the third person!.......

The Senseless Announces New Drummer

UK extreme band The Senseless (Sam Bean - The Berzerker) has been joined by drummer Leon Macey (Mithras), to record on their sophomore CD 'The Floating World'.

"It was sad to let Fruity Loops go", said Sam, "but Leon can both out-drink and out-grind Fruity. I swore I'd never use a human drummer on the Senseless, but Leon is not human. He's a blasting drumming freak. We've been rehearsing the new album in secret for almost a year, and now that recording the album is looming on the horizon, it's time to start letting some of the surprises out of the bag.

Leon joining is only the first of those surprises"

The first Senseless CD 'In the Realm of the Senseless' is licenced through Anticulture Records

Apologies for being so quiet in 2008...things will definitely be different this year!

Just to prove that I wasn't bullshitting when I was talking about rehearsing for the new Senseless album with Leon, here's some rehearsal footage!

We're at the stage now where Leon just has to pump out his album drum takes, and I'll begin adding the ten thousand layers of guitar from there. More news soon!

Of course, you can - either buy online at anticulture.co.uk, at amazon, or PM me your email address and I'll invoice you over paypal and send you one of my copies.

Sam, do you have a catalogue of available The Senseless & The Berzerker merch?

No.

Senseless merch is being held off until the release of 'the Floating World'.

All Berzerker merch is now done by PHD - go to the Berzerker myspace site for the full range. I don't have any goodies tucked away unfortunately, we managed to sell the last of all previous ranges last year.

My advice is, if any new ranges for Berzerker merch come out that you think you might want, get it ASAP. Old ranges tend not to get reprinted and stuff sells out FAST.

PM'ed you. I still have the old, rough tracks from when you FIRST put them online and told us all to download them. Awesome shit, been hunting for the senseless for a little while...

Okay, i just got my copy from amazon...

Only gave it two listens so far, but I'm not sure...
I have the old demo versions from years back, and have listened to those for years....hearing THESE is just a bit...weird, I'll be honest. I think I almost prefer the old versions...but I'll keep listening to it =D

I know what you mean, after hearing those tracks for so long (and if you're like me, holding a dear place in your heart for them) then hearing them re-done and spit-polished is a weird feeling, no matter how it might sound.

Anyway, the upcoming release should solve that problem! I plan to only leak one track from that before release, and only the one.

And while I'm shameless whoring myself and the band out, here's my recent announcement:

The Senseless will not be issuing upcoming release 'The Floating World' with Anticulture Records. The debut album 'In the Realm of the Senseless' is still licensed and available from Anticulture Records. The Senseless are, at this point in time, free agents.

This decision was actually made about this time last year. The announcement was held back so it could be buttered up with drippings about the next Senseless album. For those wanting gossip about acrimonious Artist vs Business bust-ups, SORRY! - there ain't none. It was all done rather nicely, with bon-mots and heartfelt au-revoirs. The Senseless feel that the album we're working on is Big, Special, Precious, Brilliant, and Fucking Re-TARDED as what, and could not bring ourselves to merely license it out under the same conditions. We all wish each other the best, and will name our children after each other.

We have not decided on another label, or whether to self-release. Indeed, we haven't even started approaching anyone. That is because we are hot about the business of making an album no one can possibly anticipate or imagine.

Leon is exactly halfway through laying down all the drum tracks. When this album is released - and we anticipate this album's completion around the start of autumn - extreme metal drummers will sit up and take notice. Leon's performance is insane. I'm sorry to talk shit about past members, but Fruity Loops is getting taken to the cleaners by what Leon's doing on his kit.

Stuff we can tell you about the new album:

- we plan to have guest appearances, again
- in case the multiple announcements have passed you by, a drummer is appearing on this album : Leon Macey from Mithras
- oldest song appearing on this is 5 years old. I'm getting quicker at songwriting.
- A few sample songtitles are "In Our Hearts", "Far From Over", and "The Floating World"

That they do. I really miss that comedian sample "Kill yourself, kill yourself, kill yourself, kill yourself kill yourself kill yourself killyourself" I'm betting you would have had to pay up to use that sample in the studio version, so I get it.

Am I wrong in assuming one of these will be the song you leak???

Anything else you can tell us about the album?? Like, how the sound compares to the previous senseless album / demos / berzerker material?? Damnit, I wish I would interview you sam! If only I had the time, or knew the slightest thing about doing interviews! argh!
