That should be on James' upcoming DVD, right?

Yeah... everything will be revealed. I want that DVD badly... but I guess James will be unavailable for this recording until, at least, March 15th... I guess...

Worship Depraved

Hey man, I know it's been requested, and if you still have the time and drive to do it, I'd love this song to be tabbed out. I am even willing to offer cash via paypal for it. I have a solo-Black MEtal band called WinterReign and I'd like to do an electric violin cover of this song, with maybe some backing acoustic work on my guitar. Let me know if you've time for it, your consideration is very much appreciated.

I can post a pretty complete Guitar Pro drum track for Worship Depraved, if it helps as a starting point in any way...

I'd just wait for the DVD if I were you. If I started a tab, I'd never get round to finishing it because I always do that. I lose interest after a while and have to force myself to do it.

Someone needs to do a tab for the Overthrown intro.

I think I may!
Might take a few weeks though if I do the whole song.

Well after listening to it last night, I think I'll take a stab at the intro, at least.

And I started WATN about a month ago but I deleted it 'cause it wasn't going well but I started it again last night. It still doesn't sound right but it is what I hear when I listen to the 2 seperate guitar tracks.

http://www.sendspace.com/file/70o5wd

If I split up the guitars, that's what I hear but it sounds wrong when the MIDI plays back. Does it sound ok or not?

I have Guitar Pro 5 with the RSE engine, and when I play your tab for We are the Nightmare under that, I think it sounds pretty close.

Really? Awesome. As I say, when I listen to the seperate guitar tracks, it sounds spot on. It's just the actual harmonies that they're playing sound weird in GP4.

I'll have to see if I can carry on with it a bit soon.

And I started a tab for Overthrown.

http://www.sendspace.com/file/c906cb

Bar 6 is wrong but I'll correct it soon and add bar 3 and hopefully continue with the rest of it.

It's your call. If I carry on with it, I'll do all instruments myself but if you can provide a drum track that's accurate, then I don't see the harm in that.

Here is a file with the next few sections. Some are obviously not right but I'm sending it out so far to see whether I should continue spending time on it:

http://www.sendspace.com/file/7esjdc

If you think it sucks, I'll leave you to it, but if you think it has potential I'll keep going. Feedback welcome, too...

Hmm, I don't know the drum track too well but I know you've changed all the drum sounds (38 snare instead of 40, 35 kick instead of 36) so I'll probably re-write it when I get round to it. I'll probably refer to it if I need a 2nd opinion on anything.

Here's my update on the WATN & LBTMC tabs.

Arsis - We Are The Nightmare - 01 - We Are The Nightmare
Arsis - United In Regret - 05 - Lust Before The Maggots Conquest

I'll post again if I update them further.

I've also updated the FIRST POST, CHECK IT OUT!!!!

That is really good, I'm amazed ;)

I think the song WATN runs at 250BPM though. If I set that, the MIDI playback and the song match up almost perfectly...

Fair enough. I haven't tried that but when I set it to 250, it seemed a bit too fast. But I'll have another listen.

Why they just don't release the tab books for their albums? I suppose they have all their music already written down, or not?
I know... I'm a bit repetitive on this... but I HOPE someone out there will listen to my cry...
I'm literally dying to learn Arsis songs... to play them the way they are meant to be played.
Anyway, thanks to anyone who is tabbing "by ear"... great job.

Just fucking learn what's there and stop moaning. You try and tab this shit.

And what's so hard about rearranging the notes yourself?

Awesome tabs Hate Crew Deathroll! You're making me want to finish the Lust Before... tab. If I do so, would you care to tab out the bass and drums again? And the We Are the Nightmare tab sounds spot on!

I agree with xxxyyy, although hopefully James will show some of his licks and riffs in his video if nothing else. If you have transcribe though, there's no excuse for you not to just figure it out yourself. Sure it may be tough, but it improved your musical ear and it makes learning the licks easier to learn when you figure them out yourself (at least, for me it does).

Is this a joke, right?
Because you are not funny...

edit: I should have said "thanks to everyone", not "thanks to anyone"... does the confusion come from this? my bad English... sorry (if the problem is about this sentence).

Thanks for the support, the more we are, the more chances we have that James will put out the tab books, considering Shiven Records (the house that should have produced the DVD) is... dead.

No, this is not a joke.

It seems like you were complaining that all you had was GP4 tabs instead of James tabbing it. If the tabs are correct (and we try our best) then I don't see what's to complain about. If James posted a tab in Gp4 and it was the same as mine or something by Distorted Image, what difference would it make?

The only thing that set me off was this:
Quote:
I'm literally dying to learn Arsis songs... to play them the way they are meant to be played
...as if our tabs were horribly wrong. I'd be willing to bet that alot of it IS how James plays it.

I didn't mean to offend anyone and I admit, I was in a bad mood at that time but I have to say I'm with you, I'd love to see some official tab books for the Arsis albums. Muhammed did one for Necrophagist and it was well worth the money so I'm definitely in support of some from James and co.

Btw, the tabs in the first post that aren't as accurate, I'd say, are "Maddening Disdain" & "Return". They weren't done by me but I hosted them anyway. ADFD sounds pretty close.

The others were done by me and Distorted Image and I think we've done a pretty good job in getting them looking and sounding accurate. Some things, like solos, for example, I can't guarantee are 100% so I can see why you're saying what you're saying.

Sorry for the post earlier.

Don't worry... the wonders of the written language... if we had talked face to face this would have never happened...
I greatly appreciate your work on these tabs.
:)

Do you know what made me write those things?
This interview by James

http://www.ultimate-guitar.com/inter...ong_is_ok.html

Here's a snippet:
---
When I interview someone for Ultimate-Guitar, I like to ask them if they’ve ever checked out the tabs kids put up on the web. Have you ever checked out an Arsis tab and was it even close to correct?

None of the Arsis tabs that I have seen online have been completely correct. A few seemed to have the right idea.
---

I repeat, I appreciate your work on the tabs, but I'd like to have all the songs with all the solos, 100% accurate, without any worries.

I remember talking to James after a show, I think it was in January, about his instructional dvd. He didn't say anything about Shiven records, only that he was gonna be able to use a Washburn guitar factory to film the video, and that he thought the filming would start sometime in April.

In the meantime, you can just try to learn whatever your dying to learn yourself, unless someone else is in the process of working it out. To anyone reading this: if you are working something out, even if you know it's not 100% correct, post it anyway! We can help, and would appreciate your time and effort.

I hope I didn't scare anyone away from writing tabs... my apologies.
