Wow. I love the pessimism. Here is a summary for people who don't want to read all of it:
1.) Buy guns because the U.S. gov't will fail soon. 2.) Obama is overrated 3.) Drugs should be legal 4.) Greg hates taxes: Gov't supplied health care is wrong 5.) Speeding laws are wrong 6.) Don't ask permission to protest 7.) Dillinger will cede from the union and form a utopia of metal and barbecuing. |

Greg's obviously a smart guy, but I disagree with almost everything he said, haha. Except the part where he talked about new DEP material, that's cool with me.

this sentence made my brain explode with pleasure. Imagine a giant green field with all the worlds metal bands (except maybe a few of the black metal bands) standing around, smoking weed, drinking beer, eating barbecue food, taking turns to jam freebird on a big stage.

Here is the dillinger one, not bothering copy pastaing gregs, that would destroy the internet tubes.
But Greg is right, Palin 2012 ! There is a press release coming out soon from us, with details of our new album, which we start recording July 20th. Title, record label, estimated release date, tour dates, all kinds of stuff. Coming soon. Until then, chew on some tasty randomness from Ben about the writing process on our official twitter at: twitter.com/dillingerescpln Liam twitters too over at: twitter.com/liamwilson I signed mine up at....you guessed it.....twitter.com/gregpuciato .I haven't posted anything yet....but once we start touring or recording I'll give you daily updates. Sign up for all three of the above twitter shitters to get an inside look from two, and eventually three, different perspectives. Like today for example...I found out that Liam is at Ben's place crankin' out the jams, but is apparently not happy with the breakfast cereal options there! Its like having a reality show with my own bandmates in it! I didn't even need to talk to them and now I know that not only are they playing but that Liam is hungry and disgruntled at the lack of berries/granola/almond milk in a bowl, which I imagine is only making his basslines meaner! Liam's also got a cool blog going on over at: http://reinventionofthereal.blogspot.com/ So far he's posted cool shit on everything from Cliff Burton to speeches on creative genius. Speaking of blogs, I just went on a ridiculously long anarcho-capitalist rant over at: http://blogs.myspace.com/gregpuciato . Check it out if you wanna kill 20 minutes of your life listening to me devolve further into lunacy. Check out all of the above links to find out details of individual news on us that isn't in here, like Liam playing with Frodus, me doing guest backup vox on the new Everytime I Die, Ben unleashing the riff fury while eating a lot of lobster and finding new ways to tell people to suck it....etc. I hope you are all ruling full-time out there. Besides writing, we are in the process of mailing out the two for one shirt deal that we did a month or so ago(Lurch and Sick On Sunday), so be on the lookout. After that we'll hit you with Mouth Of Ghosts and Nong Eye Gong/When Acting As A Wave....then we have a limited Remix EP coming, a DVD, a new album, forthcoming US and European tour dates......its gonna be an exciting year!! Man, I love GP's blogs.
If there's going to be a DEP run nation with barbeques and metal, the national anthem should be composed by Shit Yeah. |

I used to think Greg was kind of an asshole, albeit an amusing one. It's pretty clear from this rant that he's also an incredibly ignorant one.

It's not that he doesn't make any good points...it's just the whole "everyone is a deluded shill and I have the real truth" attitude, which is selling snake oil, too, especially when he resorts to really immature tactics and name-calling to get his point across. Lame. He reminds me of a 9-11 conspiracy hack with this kind of a rant. If he really wants us to be better critical thinkers, he shouldn't so rashly write off opinions or positions he obviously hasn't taken the time to truly understand or realize might also have some merit. Plus there are just logical inconsistencies all over the place. The one that really hit home for me was his whole rant against speeding tickets and speeding limits. For someone who apparently values limited government and personal responsibility, his views are just hilarious. Government intrusion would be needed to force car manufacturers to limit the speed of automobiles. And isn't that limiting consumer choice? Also, while we all speed once in a while, I'm sure most would agree that a consistently excessive speeder is a reckless driver. There are real societal costs due to speeding. I was going to post something on Greg's myspace but didn't, since it's kind of a shit thing to bring up...but my mom was killed by a speeder. Her murderer had several speeding tickets on his record, and he misjudged a curve and slammed into her car. She never got to see me graduate from high school or go to college. So suck it, Greg. |

I thought the speeding ticket rant was kind of a laugh, and while I know what he means he was pretty vague on his point. I have a feeling he was more going for cops giving people tickets in speed traps for doing like 48 in a 45, it's hard for any logical person to deny going 20 over are dangerous though.
While I do agree with the part about most all politicians really just being the same in the end, the fact he couldn't of predicted what Obama was going to do back during the election shows he bought into the celebrity hype like every other clown who praised him as the messiah. Change doesn't come from one guy and it's ignorant to think that. Ohh and wooohooo! for new Dillinger this summer. ![]() |

I kinda see where Greg's coming from on all of his points but I feel like one could make valid logical arguments from the opposing perspectives.
On the whole speeding thing, from Sister Ray's personal experience and my own, it's pretty safe to say that speeding just to get somewhere quicker really is never worth it. Is risking your life or more importantly someone else's life worth getting to where you want to go faster? It's obvious that the whole "speeding" and "car's top speed" thing is made so someone somewhere can make money off it. Whether it's the car manufacturers or the dicks in uniform, someone's trying to make a buck off you. So, why even give these fucks the gratitude that they'll get more of your money? But then again, you can spin this scenario in almost any direction and decide that eventually you're going to get raked over the coals and beaten and raped of all the money you "earn" through your shit jobs. Because "they" will always find a way to reach into your pockets through "taxes" and "taxes" on "taxes". The only way to give a giant one finger salute to society in general is to go off in the woods and live off the land like Gary Busey in Black Sheep. And I don't see many people wandering into the wilderness without their GPS's and World Wide Web... I feel like that because I am only one person, no matter how hard I try to change things, I won't be able to do so because I am only one person. And I'm fairly certain that things will not change unless there is some sort of epiphany on a grand scale where everyone decides to change which will most likely because someone will tell them to. I lead a fairly decent life where I see a lot of fucked up shit on a daily basis and I'm sure most of the people on here feel the same way. Anything from plain ignorance to sheer bliss and I usually keep my mouth shut when I see it. I just kinda go throughout my life as if everything's peachy and I'm a sane, contributing member of society. As long as I keep my eyes and ears open and my head on straight then I feel like I should be in the clear for my short time on this crater of a shithole. (if that makes any sense) I am "enlightened" (to an extent) and I really don't give a fuck if you are, are not or if you don't get it at all. Clearly, I go to my local fight club more than twice a week. haha

No one on here cares that he's planning to write two books in the vein of E. Robinson's "Fight".
Awesome if it happens. |
