Is the berhinger modeler amps reall the shit?

I like my pod xt fine, but is the v-amps really that much better than the pods?
if so which v-amp is the best?

For the price, v-amp 2 > all. I need to get a new power adapter for mine.

Think they recorded with the Digitech 2101 if I'm not mistaken. However V-amp 2 is good for sure, just check Forbiddens samples or the Decrepit Birth promo vids on youtube + their demo recordings.

I've got both the XT and V-amp 2 and V-amp2 is definitely the best bang for the buck. XT got way more features but if all you want is a good solid sound for recording then the V-amp is definitely for you.

I'm pretty sure Mason from Element used a Digitech 2120 preamp, Carvin power amp, with the cab mic'ed with 2 Shure SM57's.

If you're looking for cheap amp modeling, then yes, I'd get the V-Amp 2 or the rack mount version (and more rear features), the V-Amp Pro.

If you're looking for a good amp though, get rid of the amp modeling, and get a nice tube head.

the only other features the pro has that the original doesn't is the XLR output. everything else is virtually the same. if you have rackspace, get the pro.

So does everyone here agrees, that the vamp is far superior to the pod?

lmao, the pod is superior to the v-amp in plenty of ways... v-amp just seems to have the edge when it comes to extreme metal riffing.

pshaw. horrible tone IMO but you work with what you have. solo is fucked so don't mind that. other than the low cut, there was no extra shit done in the guitar department.

I have one more question, is the tone real muddy, like the pod's high gain amps?

i think im going with the v-amp 2 since it has extra shit.

haha, I've posted 3 different clips so far. that's up to you to decide if it's too muddy or not for your taste.

btw, the "extra shit" that comes with the pro is just an XLR output and it's rack mountable.

*edit* n/m, I see you said "vamp 2"... only extra shit I know of it the foot controller (which is utterly useless) and a little bag to carry it all in.

I hate all Behringer shit, but I guess it's worth the price. I got an 8 channel mixing board for 100 bucks, and it works okay. Still hate it though. Their amps are total shit, so are their speaker cabs.

Does your adapter have one black ring or 2 on the tip of it?
