okay, point taken, that was just a little vague...more or less tabs, and stuff to help playing in general. I know a lot of it is just practice and taken the time to do it, but it'd be nice to start something with a half-assed idea of what im doing, ya know?

I've learned Between The Buried And Me - "Breathe In, Breathe Out" which is really fun (I'll upload the tabit file if anyone wants), but that's about it. Any info would be appreciated.

This one is pretty fun to learn, it's a good exercise I think.
It helped improving my 2-finger tapping, which I think is fun as hell!
I had some links with other tapping exercises, but I lost them due to a crash...not sure what the adresses were,
but I'll post them as soon as I remember 'em.

Here are some symmetric scales/arpeggios in various patterns that I wrote out today. Make sure to play these descending as well as ascending. Hope I didn't put too much here :)

This is the half-whole scale (in C), also known as the diminished scale.  If you start on the second note, it is the whole-half scale.  The scale has a really cool sound and seems to be commonly used in some jazz-fusion and metal bands like Martyr, Blotted Science, Vuvr, etc.  It works really well for soloing over diminished chord progressions.  Listen to the solo in Martyr's Perpetual Healing for an example of the diminished scale in action.

Ah, here we are.  The Dim7 arpeggio.  This is used (and abused) by countless death metal (and deathcore) bands.  Necrophagist's Foul Body Autopsy is pretty much an exercise in this arpeggio, so listen to that if you're not sure what this is.  Here it is in A.

I've never opened this thread before, but there is some useful shit in here. I just ran through all the exercises on the first page. Ive seen a lot of them before, but i havent been in lessons in a couple months, so I'm rusty as hell, and when I was in lessons I was more about musical stuff than technical stuff.

I havent read the whole thread, so I dont know if theres already one in here/the same one id post, but I have a pretty good finger dependency practice somewhere in my passitino notebook from lessons, I'll definitely post it some time when I'm not about to go to bed.

PS I suck balls at rolling fingers from fret to fret and keeping a strong, clean, sound. Does anyone know any tricks to that type of stuff?

EDIT: Froren. I just got to your post on this page. Can you give me an example of a song that used the whole-tone scale? Cause generally that is a very difficult one to use and is reserved for the dream sequence passages in movies, as far as I know.

This is a pretty good exercise for both string skipping and finger independence. You hold your 2nd and 3rd fingers on the 3rd and 4th frets of the B string and use your 1st and 4th fingers to play the notes without moving your other two fingers.

You can also hold down your 1st and 4th fingers on the 2nd and 5th frets (on B) and use your 2nd and 3rd fingers. That looks like this. I am horrible at this one though.
