I'm feeling a kind of nerd-claustrophobia in here. I couldn't give you numbers but I'm quite sure only the hugest dorks were able to still find DMD after it was unlisted and the quality of posting has followed suit.

I noticed the term "signed" is used a little loosely with some smaller labels like that. We "signed" to Blast Head Records, but we didn't actually sign anything, still own all the rights, and there are 0 plans for anything in the future.

I don't think Barrett really "signs" any of his bands, just verbal more-or-less agreements without written contracts, which is actually pretty common with smaller underground labels. I recently had a band ignoring me after I told them I'm not working without a contract, which I found kinda odd. But I guess some people think signing a record deal inevitably means also signing away all your rights, which is dumb of course since if such terms are not actually put into the contract there's no way they could be legally enforced.

^ Not true, we got a nicely written contract with a really good deal.

With Barrett, he does release a lot of bands but most of them are distribution. He does give contracts to some bands in his roster. Pathology just signed with Sevared for those that didn't hear.

Yea. It makes laugh people making fun of Barrett when he has the biggest distribution of Death Metal and has always provided great customer service for years.

True that. Other than on this board I don't think there's really a lot of people belittling Sevared though, which isn't too surprising considering the general tone of discussion here haha.
