chord progressions? (bryzz)

do you use chord progressions to outline riffs or certain parts of a song?

if you do, at what rate is your harmonic progressions (i.e. 1 chord/measure, 2 chords/measure etc)

thank you for input!

one or two chords each measure is standard for me.
you dont have to use a lot of chords either, you can keep it simple and make it work any way.
like the middle part in my own greed for example, that part is based on only two chords. instead of using a lot of chords you could for exampel make the bass or the other guitar move around a lot instead.
awesome.. thanks your input...

so since a lot of your music is built around chords, im assuming you use quite a bit of cadences throughout a song?

do you ever form periods, double periods or sentences to write riffs?

i don't know if this is the appropriate place to ask but here it goes. For Bryzz: what kind of training background have you had and how long you been playing/how long composing? You definitely have one of my favorite songwriting styles in in genre of metal and seem to have a very solid command of harmony and so great rhythmic skills and ideas.

thanks a lot, I have been writing songs since 1993, in different bands or just for myself.
the best way to learn is to play/record and try stuff out. you dont need any lessons or books for that, inspiration and spending time with your instrument is the key.
