![]() what's with all the different numbers for each tom? velocity changes? *edit8 for some reason when I right click on the file and save it as a wave, I can't hear anything when I open it up in Fruity Loops... dammit. *edit* haha, just figured it out... the samples were recorded at 24 bit... my piece of shit stock soundcard is 16 bit. FUCK! Last edited by ChAAPY; 07-17-2007 at 09:05 PM.. |

I just used one sample for each tom though, I can't be bothered to try and learn to use something else. I just opened the samples I wanted to use in Cool Edit and re-saved them as Wav files and they worked in Fruityloops after that. |

ok, so i imported the song seven(necrophagist) and was finding that many of the drums were not synched up with the notes on the piano roll. how do i assign certan drums to certain keys so that when i play the song it will be triggered to that drum?

If your song is in a "Layer" then you need to assign your samples to it, select all your samples and click on "set children" in the Layer menu. Then hit "show children" to make sure it worked. All your samples should light up when you click "show children" after you've assigned them to the Layer. Now, find what note triggers your sample in the piano roll (let's say C3 is your kick drum), exit the piano roll and then click on your kick sample. The Channel Settings menu will appear. Click on INS (instrument properties) and assign the key note to C3 (if your using a PC double click with your left mouse key and click once with you right mouse key)... let me know if it worked. |

haha I'll do my best. I just finished taking a MIDI class at my college and we worked in Reason 3.0 the whole semester. Made things soooo much easier for me to understand since a lot of these software sequencing programs are the same. I still don't know much about Fruity Loops since I only use it for drum programming (upgrading to EZDrummer next week though)... I've noticed pretty much all the questions in this thread are related to drum programming in Fruity Loops anyway... no one wants to know how to edit synths or automate controls, haha.

I made a good drum track using sneap samples and threw the tempo to 235. I exported each piece seperately so I could import each drum piece seperately into my daw to mix the right way but no guitar as of now.

This thread has helped me beyond belief. I've been fucking around with the program for a little while now, but learning short cuts and getting better drum sounds is a huge help. Thanks to everyone for the great info.

I know this is old as shit, but there is a much easier way to do triplets.
![]() Noticed it changed the piano roll to sections of 3. If you select 1/6 it will be in sections of 3 still but you can put notes between the gaps. Badass. Make sure you put it back to Cell when doing normal stuff. |
