HYEO looking for drummer (Greater Boston Area)
Thunder has struck the clock tower, and once again, the space time continuum is out of whack. Only by going back to the future can we solve this one!
Heisai Yasokawa's Empty Orchestra, brutal grindcore from Massachusetts, is looking for a new drummer. -Must be 21+, have some kind of job / financial resources -Be willing and capable of taking liberal time off for shows and tours, with ample notice and obviously we'll all consider our schedules -Have own, personal transportation -Have own kit/gear which is maintained and updated -Be able to play very fast AND accurately. No "mud" blasts, please. -Not afraid to go against tradition -Have a good musical background, whether through band experience, education, or personal experiences -Bonus would be if you have a practice space -Be able to get along with others, have a positive attitude, be sociable, find creative solutions to problems, and be passionate about music and the sometimes unpretty realities that come with being in a hard-working, aggressive metal band We have been around since 2007 and have, in that time, played about 100 shows. We've performed, as a band, in about 5 states and individually in about 35 states. Rusty (vocals) and I (guitar) have very similar musical ideas and opinions on the direction for the band, as well as our own equipment and van. Our band is vocals and guitar through a loud, heavy rig. We're looking for someone that is on board for our ideas and feels they coincide with their own, someone that will feel at home with how things are going and wants to become part of what's happening. Our music is very fast and somewhat different than what one would expect with traditional grind. We're somewhat opposed to long songs but like to have diversity in the music. Influences include Pig Destroyer, Magrudergrind, Dinosaur Jr, Nirvana, Muse, Neurosis, Incantation, Brutal Truth, Rotten Sound, Black Flag, Minor Threat, and Deadguy. We also like different eras of Converge from one another. Email fireandjail(at)yahoo(dot)com (replace (at) with @ and (dot) with . ) or RATM99266(at)aim(dot)com . MySpace is http://www.myspace.com/emtpyorchestrama |

cause Rusty is 26 and I am 28.
Why shouldn't we find someone A) closer to our ages and B) able to play 21+ shows? I'm too old to have to cancel a show cause of one guy being 18. |

how is brutal grindcore breaking traditions? will you be adding an actual symphonic orchestra in your music? do you include the recorder and a triangle? well what about those racks you use in the olden days to rinse out your clothes? will you be using that as an instrument, you know, like taking a hair pic and scraping it to make music?

"Empty Orchestra" is a line in one of Heisai Yasokawa's poems about life in Japan after the bombings.
'Nothing is endless, And everywhere is the sound of an empty orchestra' We don't want to keep writing the same grind shit that's been written 20000000x so we're working on developing the music a little differently. Considering our old drummer didn't have a job, yeah, it'd be great to have the new one break that 'tradition' |

I've been listening to them like woah for a while now, and have somewhat introduced Nick to them....so we consider them an influence
I haven't heard all of the new LP, but what I have heard is sick |

while you're at it why don't you clean out your practice space and throw your instruments in a lake? dude, seriously, stop spamming the board already no one here wants to be your drummer. brutal grindcore? lol u srs? take your wannabe red chord metalcore bullshit somewhere else.
Also, I just went to your myspace and lol'd at this quote really fucking hard. "It wasn’t entirely true that the Boston hardcore scene is dead..." A) Past or present tense. Tell him to pick one. B) You're not a hc band so idk why he's talking about hardcore in relation to you in the first place. C) no shit the boston hc scene isn't dead...it's only one of the bigger scenes in the ENTIRE FUCKING WORLD. i mean, i have nothing against you guys personally, i'm sure you're solid dudes, but enough already. The fact is, it's too small with too much information. I've done the flier thing, posting and looking, and you just have to be to the point and have something on it that catches the eye. Being a drummer, if I saw this, I'd stop reading once I saw the clusterfuck below.
Going into detail about what you like, what you want to sound like, what you have done, what your favorite dish is and how there was blood on the tp when you wiped your ass last night isn't going to interest anyone. No one gives a fuck about the band members biography. I'm looking for a name, a number, and like 3 lines of information. If I'm out in a public place reading this, chances are I'm busy and I don't have time to sit down and learn out some twats for 12 minutes or listen to some little shit say "oh well you HAVE to be this way to be in this band." If you're going to start barking instructions at someone before even talking to them, even if I fit the bill or not, the person comes off as a major asshole and I wouldn't call. Also lol@namedropping for influence. Fuck I was just bored and ranting for lulz before but now that I just saw that this is officially the dumbest flier ever. |

reads to me like they know what theyre looking for and theyre trying to get exactly that. if you know what you want, why not be specific?

I love how all you need is a keyboard and a few bad memories from childhood and any douche can have an opinion on the "right" way to do things.
We like our band, have a good thing going and people like us. Don't like our music? Don't fucking listen. Do like our music? Help us find a drummer. Don't like the flier? Don't fucking read it. This has been a lesson in how not to be a fucking tard. |

oh we're sorry. please, forgive us for commenting on something you posted. silly me, i thought that was the point of these cotton pickin' "message board" thingies or whatever the kids call 'em nowadays but i guess i just had it all wrong.
but while we're doling out advice, how about i offer some, as well? first, if you can't take criticism, don't post your myspace/fliers/whatever the fuck else on here. no need to get so defensive. really puts people off when you're trying to attract new fans/potential drummers. second, it's your fault expecting anything constructive to come from this board in the first place. stick around a little longer and find out while all these threads youve been making are truly futile. third, believe it or not, there IS a "right" way to do things. that's the reason they tell you to put your hands at 12 and 6 in drivers ed because driving with your feet gets you fucking killed. then again, now that i think about it, that might just be something i'd encourage when it comes to yourself. brb, gonna go buy some cassettes wrapped in fucking string. oh wait, on second thought, it's not 1988 and i have anything else to spend my money on. this has been a lesson in how not to be a fucking tard. |
