Atheist Live

Saw them last night with Vitriol

Dunno if anybody else has seen them lately, or was planning to in the future, but I really enjoyed them. Their set was tight, diverse, and groovy as hell

definitely worth a couple bucks to go see, especially with Kelly getting up there in years. No idea how many tours he has left in him

Vitriol was solid, too

Re: Atheist Live

I didn't go because Vitriol is embarrassing and I can't stand singy Cattle Decapitation, but I just want to mention that it's a joke that Cattle headlined over Atheist, in Seattle at least

Aw c'mon now, Vitriol isn't bad. They had a good live sound and they were entertaining.

I almost left before Cattle came on, but my friends wanted to stay. Their new songs were boring as fuck, and you could tell the crowd died when they were playing them, but they played enough old material that my drunk ass decided to mosh a bit, so it was still fun.

Funnily enough, Kelly was complaining about the Seattle crowds and how dead they were. I remember the exact same thing from when I used to live there - nobody moves at shows up north for some weird reason.

Yep, it's getting worse too. I mosh at most shows and try to get pits going, but I usually stop because pits with only 3 dudes in it are super lame. Cattle Decapitation usually has good mosh pits though, so if the crowd was extra lame it was probably due to the new material. I love Atheist, but I'd rather watch them than mosh

Nice, I still have yet to see Immortal Bird live. Every time they come around my neck of the woods, they end up playing a venue an hour and a half away from me on a fucking Wednesday or some shit.
