Cool that they've got people into some Awesome other stuff too, Aphex or Patton related.
Weird thing was after Irony , I didnt get Calculating Infinity but waited until their new album came out and assumed they were an instrumental band.
The shock of Greg's vocals from the get go rectified that imagining vacant.

i liked we are the storm for about a year and hated everything else they had.

Then i watched that virgin megastore vid on youtube and got hooked on their live feel, saw them live and never looked back.
Now i lub them

I liked Panasonic Youth after seeing the video for the 47th time. I'm a little slow.

My friend basically said "You have to hear this band, The Dillinger Escape Plan. They're insane." So, I bought Ms. Machine and was blown away.

Justin Timberlake cover. Seriously. It may be considered gay or uncool or whatever, but that's actually what happened. So I listened to Plagiarism and Irony for ages, then slowly began to accept the others

i heard 43% burnt in high school circa 2002 and thought it was beyond me. i figured there was no way they played the same thing every night. about two years later, i had downloaded the infamous performance at the reading festival from limewire. hooked ever since.

I suspected that Dillinger made 'plagiarism' with the hopes that it would lure non-Dillinger fans to the dark side. My guess is that you are the only person on the planet who that actually worked for.

Well, I was already into Between the Buried and Me, and various other bands like that, so it wasn't a huge change. It's just I hadn't really bothered with dep. The jt cover was something interesting and funny that notified me of their existence.

I first heard of them through the My Michelle cover thinking it was one of the only good covers on the disc...but didn't get into them until Irony with Patton. Bought Miss Machine, thought it was ok...but some of it sounds like a high school band. Ire Works hit and I thought it was awesome, more mature sounding and really got into them.

maybe like a college radio? Actually there's a radio station here that plays DEP occasionally (if only by request). It's like an oh-so-hip alternative non-mainstream radio station.

Hells bells. The guy I share a Sirius receiver base with at work took it and put it in his truck, so I was stuck listening to the local ClearChannel new rock channel.

It was here that I was exposed to Five Finger Death Punch. Has anyone here heard them? Imagine all the worst things about new rock, and magnified by twenty. I mean, I like me some bad music, but holy shit. Crappy, angsty lyrics I could've/probably did write in 7th grade, a singer that sounds like a harpseal getting ass pummeled, that annoying bob the band does instead of headbang, a Mark McGrath looking dipshit singer, etc. I seriously get pissed just even thinking about them and the fact I've ever heard one of their songs, they're that bad. Literally, not for exaggeration purposes, had the choice of Nickelback or them, and I was like, "ooh, Nickelback it is!"

Unhappy

I missed it. This is what I get for trying to have a life outside the internet for the first time in years.

I'm an old man. Saw them in August of 1998 with Adam Doll on bass.

It was from the tour with Cave In (UYHS had just come out), Botch, Jesuit and I believe Black Army Jacket opened. DEP went on 2nd. It was at the Space in Worcester, MA and musically my life was forever changed after that show. I remember people in the crowd were actually scared for thier lives because they were playing on a floor, not on the stage. They were very raw and I rememeber nearly taking a guitar to the head. I wish someone video taped that show.
