Pretty much, you pick one string with your pick and another string with your finger(s).

Yes, just picking without any weird stuff. Im holding the pick in a weird way (with 3 fingers) and I have noticed that the former guitarplayers in SoP had some problems playing my riffs. I have problems playing solos because of the 3finger way of holding the pick, but they had problems playing the riffs. so its problems everywhere.

Which three fingers? I assume you mean thumb, index and middle fingers. Is that right?

Yes thats right, I have seen others play like that also, so im not alone, but its not a good way to hold the pick, it makes it very difficult to play leads.
I whish I had learned to hold the pick in the right way from the beginning. Its to late to change that now.

It would be really difficult, and arduous. Although, if it's any inspiration, Ron Jarzombek had to completely redevelop his technique after having surgery.

These days, I'm starting to LASH BY LASH.The skiping riff at the beginning, AH,...so hard.

You make your amazing riffs in your own way,it's arduous for us to play

I actually find the 3 finger style a lot easier and more economical than using just 2. Reason being (for me anyway) it keeps my middle finger out of the way so I don't actually mute strings while playing, I can alternate pick far more accurately/consistently, it keeps my wrist in a naturally comfortable picking position (especially for tremolo picking) and I don't anchor as much while using 3 fingers (I don't like anchoring, it limits my playing.) I also don't have any trouble with leads either, Not that I'm a fantastic lead guitarist but I can play the leads I know better using this method.

Yeah- lol, who the fuck said using 3 fingers is WRONG? I use three fingers to hold the pick- that's how I was taught in lessons...and everybody at Berklee was the same.

They teach it like that? Why does literally everyone hold it with 2 fingers then?

Yes! Someone else who doesn't just use thumb/pointer. I never had any lessons and taught myself everything, and that's how I just started holding the pick. Nice to know I'm in good company using three fingers.

When I first started playing guitar, I held the pick using three fingers but my friend convinced me to use just my thumb and my pointer. Hahaha, he mainly convinced me cause I couldn't pull off pinch harmonics using three fingers.

It all comes down to personal preference I guess, I've started alternating between 2 and 3 depends on the riff and positions.

I like tapping with my middle finger so I can hold the pick in the same position. So yeah, I ain't no ho, 2 fingers is enough for me!
