Watched The Third Man - alright, unusual soundtrack.

Added There Will Be Blood to my rental list.

The Hangover is wicked bad.

I was in the same room while two people watched Marie Antoinette (2006). It was horrible. I guess the director just wanted hours of people looking elegant coupled with popular music, sans plot. It looked and sounded cool, but felt more like an exercise in escapism for disgruntled preteen girls than a movie proper.

Also, I just watched Train Spotting again: it is still great.

Trainspotting is one of my favourites.
I watched 500 Days of Summer last night, really liked it.

I added it on your recommendation. Then I saw it was a Plthmsndrsn film and realised i'm gonna have to try hard to be open-minded about it.

Also got Primer out on Mr Booth's recommendation.

Oh, duh. To be completely honest, it's very unlike anything he's ever done which is why I think a lot of people enjoyed it as much as they did.

What's your vendetta w/ PT?

He's a good director an' all, it's just his films I don't like. Absolute baloney served up as something which could happen in real life.

Watched 2001 for the 1st time in maybe 15 years or so and I'm not a stoner anymore, I really dug the set pieces , especially the circular walk ways , great effect and stands up now as something I've never seen before. I could see how the interiors have influenced Ridley Scott and George Lucas too.

Today I watched two films I had never seen.

Magnolia = over three hours of beautiful collapse. Loved just about every minute. PT Anderson has quickly become one of my favorite directors. 9/10

Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind = will require second viewing. Kaufman is quite the imaginative man. major props to him for writing however the hell he feels like writing. 8/10

There Will Be Blood: can't fault it. I liked the way the title hung over the film all the way through. I'd consider watching it again if it weren't so depressing.

For me, that film confused me the first time I saw it. The second time wasn't much better. But after three viewings, it's one of my favorite films, period. It just clicked.

In any case, I'd recommend a second viewing when you have the energy.

Dark City.

Why did i wait so long to watch this?

A- overall. Pacing (except the climax, which just dropped straight off), Cinematography and score all get big points from me. Plot was a little overworked but still easier to swallow than The Matrix. Acting and concept both great. Visually excellent even a decade or whatever it is later.

American Psycho is a must, thought the book is admittedly better, they're both so mesmerizing in different ways.

Can anyone recommend a good film forum?

check out some Almodovar films if you want some badass genre-bending material that channels Hitchcock's thrillers and the melodrama of classic Hollywood.

Igby Goes Down.. I haven't seen that film in a while and I have an urge to watch it again.

Does anyone happen to know what film this is from?

I watched Dusk Til Dawn for the first time in a long time, and laughed at the scene where Salma Hayek gives Mr Tarrantino the drink from her foot. Knowing now that he apparently has a huge foot fetish (there are foot close ups in a lot of his films) An easy way to get hot women to stick their feet in your face, write it into a script!

I don't think anyone has mentioned Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang yet? Thats a great film.

Kiss Kiss Bang Bang is wonderful. I have a pretty substantial man-crush on Robert Downey Jr.

Tonight, I'm watching Synecdoche, New York. Pretty excited. I have a lot of respect for Charlie Kaufman as a writer, and I hear he isn't too bad a director.
