I actually love the musical side of limp bizkit. Wes Borland's composition is fucking cool (Basically all of 'hot dog' changed how I looked at guitar when I was young) and so much of john otto's drumwork is groovey as fuck.

But yeah fred durst is a tool

Fred Durst in real life is seriously the most mellow person ever. He put up his skype name on his Twitter and me and a bunch of friends called him and he actually picked up. I attempted to talk to him but I honestly couldn't without cracking up everytime I tried to say something. It was the best moment of my life.

I'm not being a dick but...how? As far as I can tell he just uses power chords and a flanger for acoustic stuff. I mean I was like 12 when that album came out, I remember it pretty well.

I'm gonna have to agree with that, especially the John Otto part... This guy is a groove machine!

John Otto, he does have some serious groove, no doubt. That's all i can say for Limp Bizkit though really.

Not saying he totally changed the way I look at guitar, but it moved me away from the phase of power chords, power chords power chords etc
He uses alot of disonant stuff too.
Mainly just the way he exploited the tremelo arm, and did his badass hitting harmonics then slapping the whammy arm back to make it trill.
And how he totally owned anyones use of delay ever in the verses of hot dog, and just how most of significant other is pretty fucked up.

Also he was using F sharp tuning way before meshuggah.

Shannon Larkin - Snot
Abe Cunningham - Deftones
David Silviera - Korn
Jose Pasillas - Incubus (science is an amazing album)
BC Vaught - Hed PE
Morgan Rose - Sevendust

Abe cunningham is quality.
I can't really take drummers from bands like snot/sevendust/hed pe seriously, I don't know why I just can't. Maybe the drum sound, from HED PE/Snot tracks I vaguely remember I always remembered the snare to sound like shit, like someone hitting a tin can and just really shitty beats but i've never really listened. I don't even like John's style that much but some songs he just nails a groove so hard.

Christoph from rammstein, his drumming on their newer album is some of the most effective yet not crazy technical flashy rudiments mental drumming i've ever heard.

You guys opened the floodgates when you openly mourned that faggot from avenged sevenfold. I am not ashamed of my nu-metal roots.

I had that logo tattooed on my forearm when i was a bit younger and a bit more stupid. Sometimes I wear long-sleeved clothing so i don't have to explain it to people all the damn time. Yes, band tattoos are gay.
But if I can't be fucked to hide it I have a couple of explanations I like to give.
One time I told a guy it stood for 'justice for gays', his face was one of disgust. Which amused me a little. And sometimes I tell people it stands for 'jesus' and 'god' which has a similar effect.

how can anyone over 12, and not in the 90s, think limp bizkit is relevant.

Fred Durst is an annoying wanker with confidence problems trying to get attention.

This thread needs to die. It went like this:
"LOLOL NU METAL JOKE LOLOL"
"Oh, I actually kind of like nu metal, now that you mention it..."
"Hey, me too!"
"Yeah, Limp Bizkit's pretty good."
"Guys, their drummer give me a boner."
"ME TOO!"

gtfo, all of you.
