We should turn this into a game. Mike gives away Arsis merch for each part of the EP we get right.
Hmmm.... MIKE!!! |

All I would have to do is copy down the lyrics from the booklet in the EP. Sounds like I have an unfair advantage.

I bought the cd today and I typed this out, I'm sending the rest to DarkLyrics soon,
A Diamond for Disease Arsis A Diamond for Disease In denial of the thought that our feelings dissolve. You words were always chosen wisely, disguising all intent. Amidst the poetry, I thought I heard you say, “Let’s make a deal, a diamond for disease. Oh Christ, it’s off the chain, A diamond for disease…” Then the promise of never was as embracing as the act of strangulation. The idea of forever became the grandest humiliation. I keep remembering your words, spoken in the guise of an oath, the promise of never. Now never is all I ever receive, never, and the knowledge of your disease. Those two words spoken loudly, I do, the promise of never. Yet still I come, like a moth to a flame in assurance of pain. Still you come; a breathing death wish, with daggers drawn. Always denying the idea that the mystery’s resolved. Examined closely, understanding all intent. Amidst our screaming, I know I heard you say. “Let’s make a deal, A diamond for disease. Oh Christ, it’s off the chain. A Diamond for Disease…” If that’s you idea of forever, I would gladly take your strangulation. Your idea of forever is the grandest humiliation. You matrimony was silenced. All vows forgotten and the burden placed on me to aid you from the marriage bed. That’s when the promise of never became as embracing as strangulation. Your idea of forever, the grandest humiliation. Yet I never knew how loosely you used the word friend. In time I learned. This I cannot forgive, but only you know the truth. Your secrets, they follow, and shadows always show the path to the fallen, the liars wielding daggers. Take your skin away, wield the liar’s dagger. Because along this path are fragile whispers guiding me with guilt. And though they scream the faintest lies, they lead me to the knowledge that your words were chosen wisely, disguised was all intent. Within the deceit, I know I head you say… For now, for forever, from the start, this was the deal. “A Diamond for Disease…” |

So now, for those of you who hadn't read them before, what do you think about the lyrics and how they fit the song?

Man, Jim certainly has picked some winners :( It's a great lyric though, he sure has a knack for writing. Metal lyrics in general are either nonsensical, silly or ridden with very bad grammar, and Arsis sure help that bar upwards a fair share. Another great asset of a great band! woooooooooo

You guys who are asking for the lyrics... you're making it quite obvious you downloaded the EP, you must be breaking the band's heart. :P

Personally, I bought it and have read the lyrics on beforehand. I took me AGES to find though! My local metal shop pre-ordered it twice but he couldn't get it shipped for some ungodly reason, so I had to order directly from Willowtip. They don't have the EP anywhere in Denmark as far as I know, not even the online distro's.

i think i figured out what the song is about. "I thought I heard you say, 'Let’s make a deal, a diamond for disease'."
jim proposed to a woman, gave her a diamond ring. In return, she gave him herpes and then he dumped her. is this accurate? |

I'm not denying it. But I'm definitely making it a point to buy it if i see it in stores or if they come to town, there's no way I'll miss it. Plus, they make more money that way too. And <3 to the dude who posted the lyrics. |

Yeah man, as it turns out Earache will be adding the 3 tracks from ADFD onto the end of our next full length when it gets released in Europe. So it'll be included on the next full length release, but until then people overseas who want it have to order it from the US |

Actually, Mike, is there any way I could buy the EP directly from you guys?
As in like mail order or something? My parents refuse to use the credit card over the internet and stuff. |

I didn't want to make an entirely new thread, but I'm attempting to make the lyrics go hand-in-hand with the song. ;) A lot of the times, even with my changes, the words don't match up with the lyrics, so I just left the typed lyrics in. So, here's what I've got. If anyone has any corrections or ideas as to what some stuff is, just reply. :)
