I'd just wait for the DVD if I were you. If I started a tab, I'd never get round to finishing it because I always do that. I lose interest after a while and have to force myself to do it.

Well after listening to it last night, I think I'll take a stab at the intro, at least.

And I started WATN about a month ago but I deleted it 'cause it wasn't going well but I started it again last night. It still doesn't sound right but it is what I hear when I listen to the 2 seperate guitar tracks.

If I split up the guitars, that's what I hear but it sounds wrong when the MIDI plays back. Does it sound ok or not?

I have Guitar Pro 5 with the RSE engine, and when I play your tab for We are the Nightmare under that, I think it sounds pretty close.

Really? Awesome. As I say, when I listen to the seperate guitar tracks, it sounds spot on. It's just the actual harmonies that they're playing sound weird in GP4.

I'll have to see if I can carry on with it a bit soon.

It's your call. If I carry on with it, I'll do all instruments myself but if you can provide a drum track that's accurate, then I don't see the harm in that.

Hmm, I don't know the drum track too well but I know you've changed all the drum sounds (38 snare instead of 40, 35 kick instead of 36) so I'll probably re-write it when I get round to it. I'll probably refer to it if I need a 2nd opinion on anything.

I think the song WATN runs at 250BPM though. If I set that, the MIDI playback and the song match up almost perfectly...

Awesome tabs Hate Crew Deathroll! You're making me want to finish the Lust Before... tab. If I do so, would you care to tab out the bass and drums again? And the We Are the Nightmare tab sounds spot on!

I agree with xxxyyy, although hopefully James will show some of his licks and riffs in his video if nothing else. If you have transcribe though, there's no excuse for you not to just figure it out yourself. Sure it may be tough, but it improved your musical ear and it makes learning the licks easier to learn when you figure them out yourself (at least, for me it does).

Thanks for the support, the more we are, the more chances we have that James will put out the tab books, considering Shiven Records (the house that should have produced the DVD) is... dead.

No, this is not a joke.

It seems like you were complaining that all you had was GP4 tabs instead of James tabbing it. If the tabs are correct (and we try our best) then I don't see what's to complain about. If James posted a tab in Gp4 and it was the same as mine or something by Distorted Image, what difference would it make?

I remember talking to James after a show, I think it was in January, about his instructional dvd. He didn't say anything about Shiven records, only that he was gonna be able to use a Washburn guitar factory to film the video, and that he thought the filming would start sometime in April.

In the meantime, you can just try to learn whatever your dying to learn yourself, unless someone else is in the process of working it out.
