Metal from Canada

To challenge with the belgian Metal, here are the good bands from my country:

Gotherfall: http://www.myspace.com/gotherfall

Black Wind: http://www.myspace.com/blackwindcurse

Soul of Darkness: http://www.sm.braveconcerts.com/artists/sod.htm

Martyr: http://myspace.com/martyrcanada

Quo Vadis: http://www.myspace.com/quovadis1

Here are the well known bands in the Quebec. It's not only Black Metal. There is death metal too but i think that they deserve to be mentionned!

Great list dude. Although I'm actually from Ontario, there are great black metal bands from Quebec, but you forgot a whole bunch more.

Here's some more, particularly French-Canadian black metal bands worth mentioning from Quebec, both active and disbanded:

Akitsa: http://www.akitsa.cjb.net

Anhkregh: http://www.anhkregh.com

Blackwind: http://blackwind.servebeer.com

Ur Falc'h: http://www.winterforestprod.com/urfalch

Unquintessence: http://metalhordes.com/Unquintessence

Frozen Shadows: http://www.total.net/~frozen

Utlagr: http://www.utlagr.net

Borguildhur: http://www.purevolume.com/borguildhur

Nordicwinter: http://nordicwinter.com

Nefastüs Dies: http://www.nefastusdies.com

All other really good black metal bands from Québec, Canada. Hope this also helps. Take a look for yourself.

By the way, this is not to make you look bad. This is just showing you other bands from your own province you may or may not have known about.

I listen to em by I do not really know them and I don't even heard about em'. But they are quite good. A big trashy influence but with some bm agressivity in a couple of riffs. The songs on the myspace are good...

You're welcome Moloch. Looking out for other fellow Canadian metalheads is what I do.

Hey, did you hear of another Quebec black metal band called Destitutor? I heard they were good but unfortunately they broke up a little while ago. Just curious if you know of them.

Black Metal from Ontario (Reposted)*

*I've reposted my thread inside yours, Moloch, because Nornagest asked me if I would do that for him to cut down on the use of bandwith of this forum. Hope that's cool with you. Just thought I'd let you know. Sorry to everyone else's kind responses getting deleted, but thank you for your compliments. I appreciate them.*

Just for shits and giggles, since Moloch started a great thread on black metal bands from Quebec, Canada, I thought I'd start one on black metal bands from Ontario - the next province over. Since I'm from Ontario. Just for fun!

Here's a couple good select ones that are still currently active:

Volkurah: http://volkurah.cjb.net

Bloodaxe: http://www.bloodaxe.net

Autumn Myst: http://www.geocities.com/autumnmyst666

Fogg: http://www.foggvoid.tk

Wolven Ancestry: http://www.myspace.com/wolvenancestry

Dead of Winter: http://www.deadofwinter.ca (the only one here split-up)

Nietzschean Reprisal: http://www.myspace.com/buriedbyfire

Grimnyr: http://www.myspace.com/nobmgrimnyr

Vanquished: http://www.vanquished.ca (now relocated to Vancouver, B.C.)

Eclipse Eternal: http://www.eclipseeternal.com

That pretty much covers my list for now. I tried to stick to mostly full band lineups rather than one-man 'isolationist' projects, but it's harder to find more full bands than isolationists in Ontario. I also tried to select mostly ones that are still active. Vanquished were originally from North Bay, ON but now they've relocated last winter to the West Coast.

If there's any bands I've forgotten, let me know.

I'm also glad to say, Moloch, it's nice to know I'm not the only Canadian black metalist here on this forum. Not that there's anything wrong with that.

Hails mighty canadian!
Just to carry over your last response from the original thread:

Yes, I am the drummer and the founder of the band. I also write some lyrics in the band as well.

I'm hoping we'll have music of our own material online soon, but unfortunately we're having major problems trying to find a rehearsal space. Once we find a space, we wanna record some rough cuts of our own material. We're not in the situation to practice just yet, or record some rough cuts of song material. But stuff has been written though.

But once we do find a practice space, we'll be playing our assess off and I'll definitely keep you posted on when we finally get some songs uploaded on our myspace.

Plus, we're fully recomposing, since I have an all-new lineup from before. But that's a long story that's rather personal.

Hails fellow Hessian!

Here's a promo pic of my band from last October. I'm the one on the left pointing, just creeping out of the shadows.

Kick-ass! Let me know when Pagan Flame cuts some tracks. I'd love to hear what they sound like.

We're gonna try and get some rough cuts of our own songs out soon, depending on our own situation. But like I said, I'll keep you posted.

By the way, how did you find your band's rehearsal space? 'Cause I'm having a really hard time here in Ottawa looking for one. Do you guys pay rent, or is it someone's home (for free)? Just curious to know.

I'm glad you like the pic too. Thanks.

In the summer it's my drummer's garage and in all other seasons it's in my bassist's garage.

Lucky you! Me and my band unfortunately don't have that advantage...at least not yet. We'll see.

Hey Moloch,

Sounds pretty kick-ass! Thanks for letting me know. I can't wait to hear it. I'm sure Pagan Flame is gonna burn some major Christian/libertarian ass!

Before you send me a song, send me a PM first, and I'll pass you along my e-mail address, so from there you can send me a song. And we'll keep in contact that way as well.

My band has an "interludium" song on our myspace page right now. It was composed by my guitarist, Forneus. It's called "Implosion/Misanthropy." Check it out when you can.

Sure men we'll stay in contact. Pagan Flame is a fucking anti-christian pagan black metal. But we explore a weird kind of black metal lyricallly and musically. A major influence of black metal with death and trash metal touch. I listen to the song on your myspace. Pretty good. The sound quality is a little bit weird but the material is strong. I can't wait to hear a raw composition of Medea. Let me know when you will record some raw shit.

Hail Brother!

Awesome! I can hardly wait to hear it. It's great to keep in touch too. Thanks for your advanced support. I'm glad you like our interludium.

Hails in return to you my fellow Hessian brother! \m/
