Rollcall...who all hangs out here?

Judging by how many views some of the threads get, I'm gonna assume it's not just the same 3 people.

So, even if all you do is lurk, let us know who you are? Introduce yourselves, if you will... We just want to know how much worth there is to holding on to this forum.

There's just so many forums out there where people hang out, and so many others get caught in the shuffle. So, maybe until we get popular enough for people to want to hang out here more frequently, it might be better to take a break from the forum for while...and just post updates on our website.

What do you guys think? Opinions?

Well, I enjoy coming here, especially to keep up with one of my favorite local bands from back home. But yeah, it has been basically dead here lately. Same goes for basically every other place I post but one, which has had a good community going for about 2 years, and received a lot of "refugees" from another board most of us posted on when it shut down.

And you really think it's Myspace that's killing some of the forums. I think it's more because there are so many forums now that are spreading out people's time...and it's mostly the General topic forums that seem to do better than most band forums.

Plus, although I think Myspace is a great promotional tour for bands & a great way to keep in contact with individuals, I think it sucks when it comes to community postings/threads/discussions.

As for the MySpace thing....I, personally, go to the forums first before I even consider logging into MySpace. I think it's overrated anyway, the only good part about it is that I get more exposure to newer or more "obscure" bands there, other than that...I say "meh"

I think MySpace is a great promotional tool, no doubt. I personally hate it, but I see the need for myself to have one for my website. I just think MySpace kills the whole group forum discussion thing. Not to mention it sucks away large amounts of time from people, leaving them with a lot less time to do stuff like post on forums.
