Nice! It's a pretty interesting Ulver album and the Arcturus DVD is brilliant - even with Garm. I've had it running quite a few times since I got it =)

Hey, FANTASTIC! I've had those two albums on semi-constant rotation for about two months now! She's very talented and sexy...

Were they a present from your friend who's visiting from London?

Yes, that song is wonderful, I still can't get enough of it.

The next one that REALLY grabbed me was No Subtle Men. Give it a listen, she's so honest with everything she writes.

"So much for running when no-one stays to wait,
for another broken promise, to slip my mind by mistake.
And who would take my word on anything these days?
I've failed so many times saying I'm gonna change."

Your friend has good taste, by the way! How did he hear of her? I chanced upon a list of "albums of 2006" compiled by about 200 different musicians, and Anna Ternheim happened to be Daniel Gildenlow's (Pain Of Salvation) recommendation. He got it right...

I can't believe!!You just ruined my gift,saying that Daniel G. like Anna Ternheim,too. I'm kidding.lol.I just teasing you.
Knowing my friend,I'm pretty sure he didn't like Anna Terheim, his taste in music is a litlle bit different than mine.
He knows I like Dido,Katie Melua,Madeleine Peyroux and a brazilian singer called Verônica Sabino(she's great).I guess it was a shot in the dark!!!
Tonight, when I get home I'll listen both cds carefully.

That Solefald release is brilliant. I can't udnerstand why these guys seem to have been left behind the "other" avant-garde supergroups (Ulver?Arcturus?). I don't know which one I like better "Red for Fire" or "Black for Death." Either case, they're a must have

Great album!

Have you seen the film Children Of Men? The title-track is featured in it - I couldn't believe it when I was watching a big-budget film and suddenly you've got that wonderful organ intro and the tinny drums - and there's also, immediately afterwards, a very unsubtle Pink Floyd homage.

Plus Radiohead.

Quite a soundtrack!

The film was a bit disappointing, though.

I got Winds Devouring Men the other day after you said you were listening to it.

Have given it just a casual listen so far, whilst I cooked dinner, and it sounded very interesting. Far more interesting than, I'm afraid, Year Zero is sounding after my second listen...

Just bought:
Porcupine Tree - Fear Of A Blank Planet (Special Edition)
I did get a promo: great music. But I just had to hear the surround mix too. Can't wait to get home and listen to it!

That's a great album. If you're in the mood for that type of music, it's beautiful and well, darker than most anything else. I sometimes find Elend much 'heavier' than the black metal I listen to.

Hopefully, the new CD (the one I ordered) is just as good.

A lotta people seem to think that, but I just don't see it...

The action sequences are pretty good and harrowing, but...
