Right now I'm in the middle of an 80's compilation cd... Taylor Wayne, Foreigner, and then Cheap Trick. But mainly been listening to Bob Mould alot lately, along with Circle II Circle's new one.

And of course throwing the Acoustic Verses in almost daily.

haha another classic!

It was was the first time ever I watched Gremlins from beginning to end though hehe. Before I was too afraid to watch it(I' m not gonna say to what age that was ;) ), and then I never got the chance to see the beginning or end or I missed the whole thing when it was on tv. But now I saw it in its entirety!
And now I really want a mog-wai to sing for me before I go to sleep :)

Know what you mean about feeling old. Last time I was playing some Depeche Mode and a friend of mine came up to me and asked what the hell I was playing. How can anyone not know Depeche Mode???

Come on... Tell me the age you finally made it through. ;)

You should look to see if you can find an mp3 of the Mog-wai singing online, and then record it in a loop.

Yeah, listening and watching stuff from your youth with other people around can do that... How can one not know Depeche? I find that with alot of bands. Of course being in the States, and listening to bands that are big everywhere else, no one has heard of some really great music here. It's funny, because I sometimes feel old about it, then other days, that I just listen to the best music, and it's better that it's not played everywhere.

NP: Queensryche - Operation Mindcrime II --- YEs I know it doesn't come out until April, I get things early. :D

My recent new discovery:

- JEFF BUCKLEY - Mystery White Boy (live '95 - '96)

I'm loving the Grace album! Shame I'm only discovering him now, after he's been dead for almost 9 years..

Amorphis: Equinox
Amorphis are back to the style they play best. The new singer is awesome. Nice growls and a great clean voice, which reminds me a bit of Vintersorg! This CD is top ten material. Highly recommended for all Amorphis fans.

Mariska, I agree that Tarja looked odd in that yellow dress, the camera work is up close, but I can see her looking like a giant banana from a bit of distance. Going to be interesting to see what they do without her, and who they find for their voice.

Love your music taste.

NP - Voltaire - God Thinks
next - David Usher - Trickster

from both of your lists I know the following --

After Forver - even have them added on Myspace
Depeche Mode - of course ;)
Epica - yeah I have some of their stuff
GC - Duh
Maiden
Muse
Within Temptation - been into them for a few years now, also on Myspace
Leave's Eyes - totally Loving them lately.
Alanis - I listen to alot of Canadian music, she is far from a favorite, many better female singers from there... Check Emm Gryner
Cradle of Filth - not a big fan of them, but not bad.
Don't know if I can admit knowing the Spongebob theme ;)

My music tastes have been all over lately.

These are what I have lined up to listen to for the next bit.

Aina - Naschtok is Born
Lacuna Coil - The Ghost Women and the Hunter
Nightwish - Over the Hills and Far Away
Saigon Kick - Meet Your Maker
Savatage - Hounds
Social Distortion - Prison Bound
Buddy Holly - It's so easy
Dead Milkmen - Fillet of Sole
WASP - My Tortured Eyes

So cool that you know them!
(I work for the After Forever fanclub and as merch girl for Epica).
If you like all those female fronted bands as well you should really check out Orphanage as well. It s a combination of a grunting man and a clean-vocals-singing woman. I really hate the fact that they split up recently...

Wow... A women who knows her metal, and the bands personally. ;) Nice.

I'll give them a listen... I have gotten more into the female vocals. Getting better with the growling\grunting (as a singer I like pure vocals) but the music can usually make me overlook the poor vocals. Agalloch for instance, and Haggard both are great despite the grunting and such...

NP - The God Machine - The Tremelo Song
