I've gone the last two years. Waiting to see some more on the lineup before I make my decision to go or not. Demilich, monstrosity, and Dismember are cool, but I ended up regretting going this year due to cost and time off work.

Didn't go to MDf the last 3 years (went to Earslaughter last year and the year before), but previously have gone since 09. Might go back.

I spent a lot of time researching bands for MDF 2018, and it is a tough thing because in retrospect I'm not sure it was really worth it. I got pretty into Opera IX Sacro Culto album and their set ended up a highlight of the fest for me. On the other hand there was a handful of bands I spent time and money getting into, but didn't end up really enjoying the set, or maybe still couldn't recognize many songs so it would have made no difference if I went in blind.

In terms of line up, this is so far shaping up to be quite a much needed improvement. Yet despite that, I have to say that the whole two venue set up (not to mention overlapping of set times) kind of defeats the point of attending. Besides I've really grown to despise the city of Baltimore as a whole. It's such a shithole.

I think you sometimes forget how vast the US is. For me, driving out to MDF takes about 10-11 hours (which is usually 'cheaper' than flying) and I'm not even halfway distance from east coast to the west. If I was made of money, I'd go regardless. But, so far, it ain't enough to spend the money to go.

Seeing my buds Vircolac and Sacriligia on this bill is still pretty surreal considering that it was only a few years ago that our tiny island full of shitehawks wasn't exactly renowned for its DM output. All our bands sharing members should give an indication of just how small it is here. Onwards and upwards and so on
