I Dont Understand This

Kataklysm has been around for quite a number of years and has more than enough albums but what I dont understand is why they aren't headlining the tours they are playing on!! Direct Support for Chimaira? They have 2 albums and not nearly as brutal as Kataklysm or as great of a show. Also seen Kataklysm with the "Opening" spot for Devildriver and Unearth like are you serious? In my opinion Kataklysm needs to be the headliner on most of their tours because they tear the place up like no tommorrow and seeing 6-7 songs isnt nearly enough!! I always go to see you guys regardles of your spot on the tour, 4-6 songs is better than nothing but you guys should be owning the show, you deserve it.

I agree 100%. This is something that has annoyed the hardcore Kataklysm fans here for a long time, and we've pointed it out many, many times unfortunately.

The promoters or labels, whoever, always push whatever's trendy and 'in', and Kataklysm have never fit that bill. In a way it's good, coz I don't want the band to become trendy, but it also limits their opportunities in a way.

I'd rather they stay true and work their asses off to get the recognition and respect (which they have been doing big time), rather than sell out.

Big props to the boys! Kataklysm 4 life!

i agree 100%

i saw chimaira at sounds of the underground, and it has made me skip this tour.

the fans are total douche bags and are full of themselves.

the band members have the "im a badass, on and off the stage," huge faggots.

ill see kataklysm when they have bigger setlist than 6 songs.

kataklysm is such a great band, and i think about that a lot too.
they have more that 10+ and they are still not up there to headline.
fucking stupid.

but what frosty-j said is true, i don't want them to become trendy also so...
just hope for determination on the albums to come and some fucking bad ass songs.

I know tell me about it SID. We've waited forever for them to come, how much of a disappointment will it be if they're playing support and with a reduced set?

M said in a previous post that it could go either way - support or headline, depending on the booking I spose. Fingers crossed.

Update

KATAKLYSM have confirmed a headlining date, to take place during their upcoming North American trek as direct support to CHIMAIRA.

The date in December 6th at The Otherside in Tulsa, OK. More Kataklysm headlining shows on off-dates to be announced soon.

Good news! Glad to see that someone was smart enough to pay the Kata War Machine respect and put em as headliners on some dates. So it may be worth going after all for some of you : )

Kataklysm is also headlining a gig in small town Prince George BC (population approx. only 100,000) on Nov.25. I have never seen them live yet and I am going to the gig the night before in Edmonton and this one. Could be the best weekend of my life everyone. Even with the minimum 22 hours of driving.
