technically either can be applied as that compound group of musicians can also be taken as being a solitary specific unit making 'is' just as applicable as 'are' is when referring to them as a group of individuals rather than one entity.

I actually watched the video and it's actually a little surprising just how damn stagnant SFU are.

They make Pantera look like Disgorge.

Wouldn't be so bad I guess if it wasn't so damn bland, not to mention having already having been done to death for the last ten years already.

what i was saying, without realising I needed to be more specific, is that the music in that video is the kind of stuff Pantera were doing at least like ten years ago and who, for me at least, will be most synonymous with doing that kind of thing best.... making SFU sound like a cheap Pantera covers band, and bad covers at that.

IE, to take the analogy to conclusion, they were doing such a bad stab at Pantera and coming across so piss weak that it only served to make the real Pantera sound so much more brutal, ie more Disgorge than anything.

Pantera was a mix of thrash, groove and proper fuckin metal that reinvented the wheel.

Six Feet Under play stoner metal, with death metal vocals over the top, its samey and shit and not tech at all

I never would compare them to pantera, the only band u can compare sfu with ( other than torture killer ) is ac/dc .

And as for the record labels shite you were talking about, i wasnt saying they must be good coz of being linked to cc(barnes was in that if u remember )

Im simply saying that if they are such a fucking terrible band, why would they be signed to a big metal label and sell enough cd's to keep them on that label? Coz surely if they are cack, they wouldnt sell enough records to be on the blade.

dude, that logic of them being on the same label as Gorerotted and Cannibal Corpse is singularly the most dumb thing you've said so far.

Plus people who like breakdowns listen to Devourment/Dying Fetus or straight up metalcore. People with very low standards or morbid curiousity subject themselves to Six Feet Under voluntarily.

I beg to differ, mate. First of all, I'm NOT a us-death- or tech- metal fan. I think it's boring. If I want to hear groove, swing and quality, I'll just put some Pungent Stench on or Entombed or Mastodon. Oh yeah, and Gorerotted.

I just think SFU is boring. if you like it, that's completely okay, we all have different tastes in music.
