Well, I think that the Swedish version may have some novelty for an American audience and you would obviously perceive it differently. I'm not the biggest fan of Akerfeldt's lyrics and I think not having to be distracted by them when listening to the Swedish version was a positive for me.

Anyway if people hate the prog period of Opeth the new one won't change their mind, but I always liked bits and pieces of it at least.

I never really listened to Bolzer, I heard bits that I liked but never picked up an album. I am a fan of the new track so far. It's definitely right up my alley. The clean vocals kind of remind me of Mastodon but without the hints of shit and silliness.

I also really like the new Blut Aus Nord, planning to pick that up.

Overall, I'm sure I've missed some stuff but this is a pretty light year on death metal for me outside Wormed. I'm revisiting Tomb Mold and Disentomb because of it.

Steve Austin has been saying the new TITD is going to be his greatest album ever and the release date is apparently going to be announced soon...excited for that.

Earlier in the year he also made a post that he was gonna make a fricking Christmas album. I can't find it anymore, but I really hope that's happening. haha

New Monolord has really grown on me, The Last Leaf is awesome.
Gatecreeper is decent, not as good as their first, but still good mid-paced Dismember style DM.
New Sammath is pretty cool - not really listened to them before, sounds like Antaeus meets Panzer Division...

I only listened to Cryptic Implosion and I could never get into it. So I have no expectations and for me this new track sounds very good. I'm definitely buying it.

About Teitanblood, I have been needing to revisit Death for a good while now. I should do that first but I'm looking forward to digging into the new one later.

The newest Mayhem single is the best yet, can't wait for that. Apparently the physical album was delayed a couple weeks though.

I will have to buy it, too. I have followed them since their debut and I rate them as my favorite Cali DM bands with Severed Savior. I guess the thing I like the least is the production and the vocal patterns but fuck it. I'll buy it, too, just to give them kudos to actually pull through and release this shit. We all know how hard it is to get this stuff done when you're not a 17 year old who does nothing but listen to death metal. I refuse to not like this. haha.

I actually like the cover but yeah the logo doesn't fit that well. My biggest beef with it is the mix... I've become way less picky with production over the years but man it just sounds like a demo... wtf is going on with it

Mix is awful. Which is lame cause the CI mix/production is still one of my favorites of any deathmetal album.

One of the OM band members in the youtube comment section mentioned them being fans of "old school deathmetal" and that was the sound they were going for.

What the fuck? YOU DON'T WRITE THAT KIND OF MUSIC. THE MIX AINT GONNA WORK FOR YOU LIKE IT DID THEM.

I like the mix and the vocals that's probably why I like it better than Cryptic Implosion. I don't know what you people are whining about. Everything sounds clear and organic. I think it sounds badass.
