I played a Carvin and hated it. Everything feels oversized to me.

I have an Ibanez RG1527 and it's great. What's so bad about the floyd?

OP, I've never tried Agile, but I hear really good things about them. The only thing they tend to get criticized about is their quality control. Ibanez on the other hand are a love/hate company, you either love them or hate them. I personally love them for their feel. If you're not into lighter woods and more lead oriented sounds then yeah I guess you should stay away from them. But considering that fixed bridge RGs go for 300-500 used on ebay, craigslist, or kijiji then you'll be hard pressed to find a better deal.

However, if you have the budget for a Carvin 7 string ($800-1,100 depending on options) then of course I'd recommend them over anything else. Great quality and they make it to your specs for a very decent price. Not to much the wait isn't too long (generally 8 to 12 weeks).

The Loomis is a pretty good guitar also, you can't go wrong with any of these options I think.

Yeah, that's it. Or I just don't like playing EXTREMELY overpriced mediocre guitars.

How is $400-500 overpriced for a guitar like an RG7620? Name me a better playing 7 string for the price range.

thatīs what I thought. I was just basicly looking for some inspiration. but yeah - thatīs how I am gonna do it. I have already checked out the two decent shops near my location. Iīve tried like 6 or seven. the one I liked the most was a the jackson fear factory signature. but I want a more diverse instrument...

I bought a Dillion RG style 7 string for like 150 dollars and put a 220 dollar floyd on it. Pickups aren't bad and it plays really well, low action, neck is solid, , tone is thick, body wood is pretty nice...

How many $400 guitars do you own?

How many times have you tried to put a 6 string pick-up in a 7 string guitar?

Yes, clearly I'm the one who is "trolling".

BTW, tell me the name of your studio.

It's just kind of funny that this whole started with this guy being pissed off about Ibanez. If you go in another thraed you'll see he owns Caparison. Pretty fucking similarly made japanese guitars if ask me. (BTW, these go for anywhere between 1,700 and 2,300).

lol yeah, he just feels better about them cause he payed more for them. One of Ibanez's greatest feats is that they are of great price compared to other brands, and they are still fucking great guitars. this dude is such a moron he just sees "400$, equals piece of shit" like he sees "join date Dec 2008, stupid person".

Sure do, considering Lyle now knows / is friends with a few of the bigger label owners. Contacts are awesome!

You trolling in a thread and being condescending to someone who just wants to find out MORE information about something that YOU know something about is unacceptable. Instead of being a normal person and helping them out (since this is the musician's forum, not general dm discussion trollathon), you choose to belittle them and tell them they know nothing about anything and should leave the forum? What school did you go to that taught you that was the best avenue to go down? Makes little sense to me, if you're such a steaming pot full of information, why not be helpful?

I kind of laughed at that too, but I didn't know if he was being serious or not, and if he was, then there's another opportunity for you to help someone out and let them know, "lol, don't do that."

That guy has NO business telling anyone anything about guitars- and he had the nerve to tell me I don't know anything about guitars?? Sorry, but I'm not gonna lay down and take shit from some faggot metal kid who doesn't know a fucking thing about gear.
I know what the fuck I'm talking about, so why would I or why should I be helpful to someone who flips shit over me calling their shitty $400 guitar "shitty"?
Him owning a $400.00 doesn't discount the fact that he has probably played a higher end guitar, which I think is what he was trying to say... (if he hasn't, then nevermind.) The point is, if you have more information than someone else on a certain topic, you should want to be helpful and maybe teach (for lack of a better word; show?) them a few things they didn't know before. Even if you think they're being arrogant and have no reason to be.

Itaru, being one of them use to run the Jackson custom shop up until the early '90s I believe. They make less than 30 guitars a month and personally see over each guitar. (BTW these ACTUALLY go for anywhere between $2,100 and $3,300) They pay far more attention to detail at Caparison.
Right, because you didn't just describe the process by which Ibanez Japanese made JC guitars (the real 2,500k japanese instruments) are made.

What you don't seem to get, and at this point might never, Is that a guitar is only as good as how it feels in the hands of the user. As far as I'm concerned I'd play an early 90's high end RG that sells used for pocket change anyday over a caparison; why? Because that's my preference.

I played and/or owned Ibanez jems\J customs\signature models, parkers, prs's, u.s.a jacksons, shecters etcetc...and own a custom instrument and I'm sure you've played many different axes yourself... so what?
