Hey dude. any chance you could send me one of your MIDI files for your drums? I noticed your fills usually sound good and that you use a lot of the snare samples that give it that rattle before a fill. Might be "secret" and that's cool but if you can share one that'd probably help me a lot with drum programming without completely ripping off your style. I'm sick of just using cymbals to go along with the beat and only laying down the most basic beats and fills, need that "spice" :D

I'll ask here, Misha what did you use for the drum intro in Jetpacks? Keep up the music, any expected Bulb release?

Bulb, recently heard your cover of the FF7 music and thought it was amazing. FF7 was my favorite of the FF games.

So my question is are you or any of the other guys from periphery gamers? Saw a video on the bands page of you guys in the studio with an xbox or a ps3 in there so of course you guys probably play some games but I didn't know what kind of gamers you may be and if you were into games like mmo's (e.g. FF11) or shooters and such. Silly question since everyone else wants to know more about the music but the thread said everything so thought I'd ask this hehe. Also, since you covered the music, have you ever beat FF7 completely? Never got around to it personally fun game though.
You guys rock! cyas

how involved is Sumerian records in your recording/songwriting process? from what i've heard the new recordings sound great, just wondering if you got completely what you wanted out of your contract. they have sort of a history of messing up talented bands in my opinion, and it looks like it's happening again with Veil of Maya.

i think bands get cocky and think that anything they do will be awesome sometimes cause theyre doing it.

not summerian, no.

veil of maya just thinks they can groove it back.

periphery thinks that the new singer sounds great.
they really should have kept cris.

born of osiris new album had some very suspicious riffs.

the scene is dying out, i think theyre trying to change it before it dies.

My grandfather once told me, polyrythmic music sings the song of four legged animals who have 2 legs ,. and that aint right in the eyes of god.
but i dont agree with him.

things go from complex to simple and back its way to complex.

my gradfather has polyrythms in his heart due to palpatations and he just doesnt know it yet.

one day

How to rob Periphery's tone: Buy an AxeFx and hope you can get a decent sound out of it as Jake, Misha and Alex

Other than that, Mids are the key......mids are always the key

Need help with my djent.

I just wrote and recorded this whole song today, so I'll tell you my signal path and then any feedback after that would be amazing

Epiphone Les Paul with Hot Rodded HB set->Orange Tiny Terror->Mesa Slanted Recto 4x12->SM57->Lexicon Alpha->Garage Band

After all that it was really just tracking each individual part after each other and each individual part was tracked twice and I've got them 25% panned to each side. I don't really know a whole lot about this stuff, but like I said any feedback/tips would be invaluable. Thank you!

p.s. Misha, your music is incredible (yeah I know.. big surprise), thank you for the inspiration!
