Well don't forget to buy a legit copy.
October promises to be a good month, with the new Vile and the new Cryptopsy.
Actually, it's been a good year, recalling Origin and Deeds and others....

The solos on all songs except 5 and 7 were by Marc pattison. A local shredder. The other 2 were by J.J. Hrubovcak of Divine rapture.

so do you write the solos and have other people perform them, or are they just handled by the soloist?

if you don't mind me asking, why don't you play them? :)

Aaron Strong was the solo player before. Now he is out. I used to play solos years ago but Im not as good as Aaron or the guys on the new album. Id rather leave it to those that do soloing best. But its a problem with live performance obviously. My point of view is that the album is forever so I want the best I can get for the album.

The new album is great, amazing compared to depopulate. I have a question about that album, why'd you guys use that guitar tone? I thought it sounded terrible, I can't even listen to the cd because of it.

Yeah, you're right, I even think it's much better than "Depopulate" - general the older Viles

Wow, you cant even listen to it cause of the tone? Its not too far off from other bands that tune to A#. It was a Peavey 5150 amp, thats how it sounds. We cranked up the mids so you can hear the notes cause its tuned so low. Im not really into that tone now either though. Used a Mesa for the new one. But I dont think it makes the album unlistenable! What about Hate Eternal, Immolation, Decrepit Birth, etc, etc. None of which have great guitar tone per se but all are great albums.

I happen to really love the tone on both albums. It has a lot of mid that cuts through so you can hear every note being played. Plus, it has that lower gain that sounds more aggressive, not fuzzy sounding. A lot of bands are afraid of mids and go overboard with gain.

Yeah i dont like the guitar sound eather on the new album, its too like thick or something, like you are playing with your neck pickup, but that doesnt ruin the album, the album is amazingly good, but if you had a little bit diffrent guitarsound the album would be alot better.

Colin is so under-rated in death metal! His songwriting is amazing, as you all can tell on this album. Every song has it's own sound and identity if you will. How many bands make cd's where every song is the same. A fuckin' lot, that's how much. I said that it was the best of 05 and I truly mean that. Great work Colin!

yea colin, naoc is fuckin sweet. I listened to it nonstop when i got it and stil listen to it about every week. the recording is soo crisp and clean, wich i prefer over most brutal death albums that have weak recordings. real nice job, cant wait for the next one. oh yea when u tour the usa try to make it somewhere near indiana if possible i would love to see vile live it would be fuckin sweet. good luck in the uk these next weeks. later

Cool dude. That's a very cool approach that I think more bands should start taking. The way Matt from Decrepit Birth is describing their new album, it's going to be very varied as well. That will slay no doubt.
