All three of us are old men who prefer an actual bed over mud, piss stench and drunken metal fans falling on your tent.
So I slept at Ed's place for those 3 nights. If we do this again we'll get a hotel next time.

I'm living in the US so next time might take a while though haha. We'll see.

Yeah, especially since all that driving takes its toll as well, doesn't it? It's also getting sooo expensive these days ...

I hate Kiss with a passion but both Ed and Stephan love the band.
Driving back home half asleep and finally ending in your bed at 4am, only to get up at 11am again is tough for sure.

I earn US dollars so Europe is always expensive for me.

Nah, solution is easy: don't visit Europe! haha
But I get reimbursed for the business trip anyway so now worries.

I'm afraid my photos are pretty piss poor, probably due to the fact I was unable to keep still in my 'fangirl' excitement :D
Heres a couple of not so blurry ones:

My mate took a few too, I think hers turned out better, so once I've checked them out I'll post up any good ones.

In total agreement there! Graspop wasn't my first choice of festivals, but as I was going with a friend I had to pick one that the line up was a bit 'tamer' for her, as soon as I noticed Alchemist were playing that sold me :D

I shouted up to John and asked if they were doing signings, he said he wasn't sure so I wandered off to the signing area to see if they had a slot...unfortunately not :( So I went and grabbed myself a Tripsis t-shirt and then wandered back into the Marquee, by which time everyone had left and the next band were setting up.
Where were you stood? shame I didn't meet you, would have been nice to have a natter to another Alchemist lover :D

No worries, I felt exactly the same way!
I was so excited prior to the first show I attended that I thought of bringing a plastic bag with me in order to prevent me from hyperventilating. But I was so excited that I forgot about it ... :-)

Thank you very much for sharing them! They're really nice.
I only took a few photos as I only had my mobile phone with me and didn't want to miss anything while aiming for a good shot. Do you still want to see them?

They nearly ran me over at the corner of the exit from the festival area ...

I was in the front row (Of course! :-), almost in the middle - right in front of Rod! I saw you on the right side.

Neither did I.
Originally it had been announced on the Graspop-website and in the festival guides; but this information had been subject to change.

No worries, I'm pretty sure you didn't miss out on this because according to the screens the schedule was packed but Alchemist wasn't listed.

Hm, I didn't find anything like that, at least on Alchemist's last.fm page (But according to them Alchemist will play the Lief Festival in the Dutch city of Utrecht on Monday, September 6. I'm afraid they confused the band with that hip hopper "The Alchemist" ...
So, do you happen to remember where exactly you read about this at last.fm?

The new Relapse-e-mail-newsletter just notified me of this nice little fan video of Alchemist's Hellfest-show!
Check it out here!
Hey, I just found even more! Click here, here, here, here, or here, e.g.!

I see a bunch of these staggering drunks waving their ugly flags and shouting "Deutschland! Deutschland!" I just want to kick them in their rotting teeth before they can continue their disorderly conduct by insulting immigrants or chanting neo-fascist rallying cries!
