songwriting
what do you do when you have a section but cannot find a way to introduce it (i mean like transition into it or where to place it)? I have this with a couple parts in one song and it's so frustrating.

Try writing drums before writing the riffs (transition riffs before and after) good drum patterns usually help me out.

Don't force it, shelve the riffs, try something new. Or just make it a short ass song.

Listen to tunes with riffs that are similar.
For example, Disgorge and Deeds are great at shifting from one atonal, chromatic, blasting section to another. Jam some of that and see how it flows. |

PUT THE GUITAR DOWN. Try to think of how you want the song to sound in your head first. Think of it like a wave, where does it build, or breakdown (not in a slammy way... you know what I mean) and then once you have your idea of where it should go, riff writing should be a bit easier.
Also, hit that bong. ![]() |

You make so many threads about this. Good to know you havn't solved it yet ;)
Think about it, and try to figure it out in your head. Assuming you're going to jam with someone, just go for broke and play it, and get input. |

Song Glasses
Ummm.... yeah, so basically. You need to have a vision. I like to think up how the song with go while at the same time, incorporating ALL the instruments at the same time.... and really, once you have that vision complete. The rest should flow. and if you're having a hard time, listen to some music or have sex or something. Get some influence, ya know
