Starting amp for jamming/playing shows

What's a first amp to get for a jam space and playing small shows. I'm trying to start a band with a friend were going to be playing stuff anywhere from doom metal, hardcore punk, thrash and death metal.

We're capable of making up our own minds and ignoring your question obviously.

A stack amp or half stack, 400-700 dollars, i'm not expecting something great. Just loud enough to play with a drummer.

I used a marshall MG250DFX for about 6 years. gets loud. nice clean, distortion is alright, only used a lil and then got most my distort from pedals. really bummed i blew it tho. would love to get it fixed.

played jazz, radio rock, metal, doom, hardcore all on it. worked for me.

You don't know about re-amping? It's what every audio engineer hack uses and how bands who play shit get their timing and tones right.

Re: Starting amp for jamming/playing shows

Peavey 6505 112 plus combo is always a safe bet - nice and loud and good tone. I think you should be able to pick up a second-hand one for 400 or so.
