Tour de Horse

I have been a fan of Horse the Band for a long while now. One of the greatest shows I've ever seen was in '08 when Horse played a show that Between the Buried and Me was headlining in Omaha right after the release of "Colors" (and as much as I love BTBAM I think Horse truly stole that show). You even took the time to chat with us. My friends and I traveled from KCMO because we knew we couldn't miss such an amazing lineup, and I know we'd still travel hours again just to see you guys.

Will there ever be another tour? When will you spray our faces with your musical seed again?! Either way thanks for the good times, and hope all is well. You guys rule.

No worries. They only posted that this weekend, and for some reason, only on their facebook page..

Re: Tour de Horse

I will be seeing them play in Mass. I've been a fan of HTB for 7 years and this will be my first time seeing them live. I'm looking forward to it!

Re: Tour de Horse

Saw them Wednesday night in Hartford. Of the five times I've seen them now, this was the most passionate performance I've ever experienced from them. I can't exactly explain it but Nathan's gestures and crowd rallying during songs hyped the fuck out of me. I've always felt too old and juxtaposed at Horse shows to go wild but let's just say I shifted all of my pocket items for safe keeping... "just in case". Edgy, right?

Although the song choices were on the safe side and there were some minor sound guy miscommunications, it was a great time.

Is that Andy on the mic at the end of Cutsman? (2nd video).

It doesn't really look like him, maybe it was just an extremely lucky fan.

I saw them on Sunday night in Chicago, and it was easily the best show I've seen them play. Lots of energy, good sound, and the fact that they played Manateen was the icing on the cake. Nathan passed out for 20 minutes after the last song. When he awoke, we talked for a bit and he signed this setlist thingy I took off the venue wall. Erik was is good spirits. Haha, some guy in a banana suit knocked over the keyboard and Erik punched him, then Nathan and a security guard threw him into the crowd. He was not caught. I just hope they don't wait another 3-4 years to tour again. Nathan, I assume jokingly, said it was their last show.

That is a video of the full set in Boston. Somewhere in the middle when they play Bunnies Nathan does identify that it is indeed Andy. He then comes back for Cutsman at the end.

I wish they had played Octopus on Fire at our show, but I was equally excited that they played Manateen. Nathan left immediately after the set, but I was able to get a Save the Date for my upcoming wedding signed by Erik and Dave.

No, I'm pretty sure he was serious. It was the last show of the tour. For some reason, there's always at least one person the last few tours that thinks it means the last one ever.

Can't blame you though...I once said goodbye to them in 2010, thinking it might have been the last time, as Erik told me something about an uncertain future. Little did I know I would see them 3 times in the following year.
