Black Metal releases in 2007?

Let's post the most expected black/blackened death releases that will come out in 2007. For some reason, i can only think of more death metal oriented stuff right now. I know Behemoth are gonna release a new album this year, and i'm pretty sure Akercocke will have a new record out too. Angel Corpse "Of Lucifer And Lightning" is gonna fukking kill for sure. Of course there's Enthroned, i think Mayhem, The Legion and who else?! I hope a new band that's a big favourite of mine, Warthrone, will put a full lenght out..

- Mayhem Ordo Ab Chao
- new Immortal
- The Legion....killer band. Yesterday I listened to Revocation again. By the way is the other album good like Revocation?

And something which was released in 2007:

Lunar Aurora - Andacht

"Unseen To Creation" is extremely fast, cold and brutal. I think it's much better than the new one.

I checked the MP3 fromt their website. Still great music but the vocals??? Sounds like a bad copy of the vocalist from Graveworm.

But did I get it right? The vocalist quit after Unseen to Creation and the bass player do the vocals on Revocation because they had no vocalist and now they have a new vocalist who sings on the new album?..... I like the vocals on Revocation very much.

Where did you learn that Immortal will release a new album in 2007. I read on a myspace an interview that a guy got with Abbath. Abbath tell that they probably release an album but it wasn't certain. Just tell where did you saw that?

Vog, i'm not much into the vocals on "unseen To Creation" either.

After being a huge fan for years, i have to say that i don't have high hopes for the new Marduk. That makes me sad. I don't know what the hell is Morgan thinking but his new vocalist has a poor voice, no rhytm, nothing. I think the Legion's new band, Elizium is gonna come up with a very good release this year.

It kinda sucks that Emil Dragutinovic won't be with Marduk anymore. I really love his drumming. He's like a never-ending atomic machine gun. I'm guessing he's focusing more on his other band, The Legion. He's drummed for them before, so that's my best guess why he's leaving Marduk. But I hope they find a good replacement. It would be a MAJOR TREAT to see Marduk play a show in Ottawa, Canada (I so fuckin' wish!).

I wonder what the new Immortal album will be like, what will the new title be? I'm dying to hear some new Mayhem too.

I disagree. I find I like their new vocalist, Mortuus (also called Arioch), better than Legion. His voice is WAAAAAY MORE GRIM and NECRO than Legion's. You should hear him in his other bands, Funeral Mist and Triumphator.

Don't get me wrong, I really liked Legion as well in Marduk, but unfortunately near the end of his 9-year tenure with Marduk his voice started going and he started sounding like a pirate with laryngitis. Plus, he's turned into a wanker now. Legion moved to California, USA with B. War (ex-Marduk bassist) to start some gay-assed stoner rock/metal outfit called The Rebelangels.

Fuck Legion! He's lost his passion and love for black metal. Marduk doesn't need him anymore.

Mortuus/Arioch is WAY better for Marduk than Legion ever was, nothing personal, I think Legion use to have a very good vocal style, especially on "Heaven Shall burn..." but after that his throat infection or whatever it was made it impossible. Plus I really didn't like the "Happy friendly smile joy joy" atittude he had on stage in his last Marduk moments.
On a pure relative and objective point of view Arioch is the best vocalist for Marduk, definitely!
Morgan knows what he wants and how Marduk should sound I think, it's not to some fans to put statements like "...what is he thinking?!! simply because Marduk has it's essence back at 200% both in the heart and in the music.

Legion probably got tired of black metal but that doesn't change the fact he was one of the best black metal singers ever. And one of the best heavy metal singers ever. I say that with all conviction. Legion had an instantly recognizable voice and his vocal parts were extremely well written and memorable on both fast and slow rhytms and riffs, where Mortuus is just another black metal singer that sounds out of place all the time on the latest Marduk album. I can't believe only so few people noticed that.

However i totally agree with you guys that if he somehow got tired of black metal indeed and he even admited that, then he has no fucking place in Marduk, that's for sure. But i'm a huge fan of his vocals, this is my opinion and that's it. It's just a matter of taste after all so let's leave it like that

Legion isn't tired of black metal! I don't know where you got that. He formed a new band called Elizium and they already have a demo out and are currently searching for a fitting label.

So before one judge a person, one must know something about a person!

Actually I couldn't care less who's singing with Marduk. Both Legion and Mortuus have their own vocalskills, both are good. But in the end Legion just got some problems with his throat ...

Yeah men I know this band. But it's not real black metal. It got a major trash metal influence. It keep a killer sound and it's nice but it's not bm.

Not black metal? First of all the voice is black metal, yes there are some thrashinfluences, but this is a modernsounding black metalband, no discussion about that! Because a demo is wellrecorded and doesn't sound like earlydarkthrone, doesn't mean it has nothing to do with black metal.

Maybe one of you can open a "Who's the best Marduk singer?" topic...no?

Whispers and gossips.... always interesting to read when you are extremely bored or have absolutely nothing else to do...

So Johnny skinless prefers Legion and others prefers Mortuus/ Arioch, well what's next maybe we can push the off topic'till who likes Spaghetti Bolonese with mayonaise and who doesn't?

no??

I also really like Marduk's very first vocalist on the "Fuck Me Jesus" Demo -- vocalist Andreas "Dread" Axelsson. Sometimes I mistook him for Legion. Too bad he left a LOOOONG time ago.
