Their last one wasn’t so hot. I also find it upsetting the band is part of the ‘believe all women’ movement and thrown their drummer to the curb. While we don’t know what happened I think there’s a firm correlation between shoe gaze and white knighting.

That’s right, you don’t know what happened at all. So why jump to a conclusion like that?

I don?t associate shoe gaze with white knights, I think they jumped the gun to appease a backlash, I think women know the power they wield and accountability is the least of their concerns, sexual assault happens. These are my beliefs on the matter.

Sounding solid. I miss the howling vocals from the debut, but as long as the riffs are still there for this one, I'm excited.

The new intronaut drummer is phenomenal of course as with Hannes grossman with hate eternal some character is lost having not become the band but I can’t deny the impeccability of it.

New today is the day I was expecting a cross between mastodon and converge but instead it’s like Henry Rollins free verse with drone is this what I’ve been missing all this time?

the irony of this post... lol

also, that new Ulcy is cool, but i am somehow feeling simultaneously "meh" 'cause they've been doing the same thing for so long, but also excited 'cause it sounds like their best material since Destroyers... :emot-drun

also also, Aevangelist seems to be going through a Negura/Batoushka phase... and "The Real Aevangelist" have released a new one. seems decent enough, though all his other projects have sounded more interesting so far

also also also, Nicklas, the main dude behind Runemagick (plus an Irkallian Oracle member), has a kinda weird new project and they just released their debut full length. after one cursory listen, i honestly have no idea what to think

oh, and Psychotic Waltz have a new album out after 154 years!:emot-woot

Jamie has outdone himself with the artwork.

New album sounds like a continuation of their last album, more melodic/despairing. Can’t wait.

Aye, definitely their finest material since TDoA, 2 months to go, this better chase Corona away...

In other news, Biesy dropped a single as well, from dissonant black to drag-queen techno I suppose...

Electronic side-project of Mortuus (Funeral Mist)

Quote:

Excerpt from an interview in Bardo Methodology #6 with D. Rosten of Funeral Mist and Marduk.

A more recent musical outlet of Rosten's is his new project, DOMJORD. A full-length album, 'Sporer', will be released on March 13, courtesy of Vidfare Productions via Norma Evangelium Diaboli and The Ajna Offensive.

- DOMJORD is an all-electronic project I've been working on for some time now. As everyone knows, certain situations call for certain music and certain moods call for certain tunes; having long searched for this specific type of sound without ever really finding anything even remotely close to what I had in mind, I simply decided to make it myself. The original plan ? if there ever was one ? was to just keep the music for myself and bring it out whenever this particular void needed filling. However, the musician in me felt otherwise and couldn't just leave it at that. It had to be released, if not to reach out to a supposed listenership with the same or similar needs then at least to put an end to a chapter and move on.

This will probably be categorized as dark ambient or similar, but how would you describe it yourself?

- Very melodic, fairly repetitive, somewhat minimalistic - pulsating and hypnotic, lots of contrast, lots of texture and, as just stated, all electronic? and not that I want to tell people how to listen to music, but this is laydown-close-your-eyes-and-float-away-music. In other words, the complete opposite of everything I've ever released, performed, or taken part of before. As for genre classifications, I'll leave that to others.

There is a new twitch of the death nerve album; grindethic introduced me to brutal death metal so I’m glad Tom is still in the scene even if his label appears inactive.

New my dying bride is spectacular, much improved production over the last one, fuller sound essential for doom.

Some friends of mine are releasing their debut album this year that was mastered by Damian Herring of Horrendous. Most probably won't fully like it, which I could understand especially since the vocals can be an acquired taste. Just posting this here for the slight few that might dig it.

Yup, and I hear a more "happy" or "hopeful" vibe at times in the song. Epic.
