we've been working on our second album for a while, but its been difficult because we're all in college now. hopefully some new songs up over fall break though.

BLOOD BEAR 10-03-2009 10:02 PM

creative people. neat. i wish i could get something off the ground here in portland. it seems that if you don't sound like the decemberists or elliot smith, you don't count.

Chocobox 10-04-2009 10:34 AM

trying to make music after elliott smith when you live in portland must be really depressing cause he was such a genius imo.
It's like studying cinema and watching a Tarkovski's movie in a movie theater. Which was exactly my situation yesterday evening. Lif.

(i assume my exemple would have been better if i had mentioned a french director.)

it'd be cool if we did a postal service-esque deal here on the forums where we all add parts to shit and put it together and make it bad ass.

NathanNormanBrandt 10-07-2009 01:24 AM

ooo

good idea

who will start?

weve discussed this before for HORSE covers...but i think id be more motivated for a creative work. anyone good at drum programming? i can do it...but im better at framing it around keyboard motiffs and guitar riffs...

\V/ictor 10-07-2009 04:49 PM

this would be way easier than the horse the band the band project, which was supposed to be recording ourselves playing actual instruments

the problem is we all may have our own preferred DAWs so i dont know. i use fruity loops. i'm very down with this idea. me and horsefag have been trying to do this for a while.

Pesci Power 10-07-2009 09:55 PM

Octopussy (who hasn't posted on this board in years) and I could cover the LSDJ parts that would be necessary.

NathanNormanBrandt 10-08-2009 12:18 AM

i can do whatever, honestly. digital or analog

Free Radical 10-08-2009 10:08 AM

Oh, I'm game, but I'm not much good. Mostly due to lack of practise, I never really had any motivation to dedicate a lot of time to that, which is why I'm looking to form a band in my hometown.
I play guitar, piano, and Jembé.

I also have a friend who likes Horse and is a lot more actively making music on his PC. I provided him with some samples a few times. His music is an aquired taste I think, you either love it or hate it.
